I thought of Aspen, but it's not native around here or anywhere I have ever been to so I don't see them in person, nor do I know your species where you live well. It's not right for cottonwood but the same family as there all that family. Cottonwood leaf is more triangular hence part of it's scientific name Populus Deltoideus (spelling wrong I am sure).
The leaf shape could be mulberry but bark is 100% wrong and I know that's not it. For sure it's poplar family looking at bark.
For now...yous a firewood hoarder...and I did say "future"... Kinda like when you go fishing and catch a nice one that isn't quite up to the minimum size limit...you throw it back to get a little bigger, which these trees should do well with all that horse fertilizer around
Quaking Aspen out here has white bark, though the heart shaped leaf is close. The leaves here are smoother.
Heard the neighbors dog bark so took a run to talk to to her about the chicken. She has no issue with it. She said she knew it was a gamble as she had seen the hawks flying around. She stated that she has plenty of friends to get more from. She stated she hope's we don't mind and told her no but can't guarantee it won't happen again. No problem. So all is good
Gas, if your interested I identified 2 oddities at my previous home on the USDA plant id search engine. Of all things one was a Flowering Almond that bloomed for the first time 18ish years after living there. I recall narrowing it down with serrated/nonserrated leaf edges, how many leaf nodes per something and whether they were parallel etc. Whatever they are nice landscape/shade trees Also the website Dave's Garden was helpful.
Ok those are looking more cottonwood like. I'm saying cottonwood for sure now. This is why many leaf pics are necessary. Cause there shade leaves sun leaves and young and old tree leaves and suckers.
