I'm seeing a lot of used Keystones's listed online locally. Are the older ones still being supported for parts and cats? Some of them are very tempting price wise. My biggest concern is a possible re-sell of it down the road. One is listed as a 1999 model. I'm not scared of a rebuild and repaint.
Yes, the Keystone is still made and supported. Jon, if you call Woodstock and ask to speak with Mike (Hartigan) he loves the Keystone and is very knowledgeable with this stove. Tell him Dennis sent you.
Now I understand the original post. As far as I know, the Keystone and Palladian haven’t changed. Yes both are still made/supported. The only difference in them is the front. They are small stoves with awesome burn times on low, but you live in a cold environment. Not sure of your heating needs.... I’m very happy with mine.
We are still in the planning stages here for the hearth and we have settled on the location. We have a concern of overheating the kitchen area with the Jotul and were considering the Fireview. It will be our first winter here, so we can easily have Class A installed and make the hearth sized for many different stoves. We brought the Castine and are planning on using it, but I'm finding used Woodstocks that are very tempting. We are not 24/7 burning. It will be more for supplemental heat.
The Fireview is a front runner. Right now funds have to go towards Class A install and hearth build. The used Keystones just open the door for a cat stove for us.
I liked Bill's post that was only a period A period is a small dot-shaped punctuation mark that is used at the end of any sentence that is intended to make a statement. As with other punctuation marks that end sentences, the period should be placed directly behind the last letter of the last word of the sentence. And then tried to make another funny by using it in a statement. "No good explanation why I liked a post consisting of only a period, period". Ok, I suck at comedy but you guys gave me a great belly laugh ! The lonely bracket was left over from a conversation that I did not totally delete the incorrect post I was quoting that cracked up Eric VW pretty sure you were in that one too Bren, never mind, not important. Too easy to laugh at myself, I'd be if I didn't.
