Got a chance to drag some of the wood off the hill with the portable winch. I was able to get several logs cut up with the 488. The new chain I put on a while ago is still stretching, but it has been holding its own and cutting nicely. Put the first sharpening on it after I finished today so it’s probably ruined now. Shade is a good thing when its hot! Us wood hoarders and our toys! Got two new 20" full chisel chains for the 261 last week. Havent used it yet. Carlton brand. Ebay score of $27 for the pair. Used to use Carlton years back. Stihl an Oregon chains on other saws.

Say, the 'rack' you made for your Polaris, how'd you do that? Are those large dowels or what is that? I guess your bed is such that you could drill holes for the dowels? How deep they go? How far apart? Ingenious way to get an easy 'rack!' I just looked at my John Deere Gator; it has three slots each side on the top of the metal bed. For some type of frame I assume. Will look into that. I couldn't do as you did, mine does not have that big of a lip at the top rail. It would be nice to haul more firewood in the bed.
Good day it looks like and yes tighten that chain. I just bought a new Oregon 20" for the Husky and a 24" for the Echo. I have bought just about every chain for the last several years off flea bay. Funny thing is most times they send a card or flyer from whatever company that supplies them to give you their store info or website and it is still cheaper to buy off eBay so I don't know why they waste the paper.
The holes were already in the bed. I just put in some 1 1/4” dowels. They rattle a bit, but get the job done. I think Polaris makes different accessories that make use of the holes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
