    At a hotel in Phoenix for a conference. These are on display in a hall. I plan to scour my woods for a candidate.

    That looks crazy! Most people would think put it in the junk pile it's not worth it to try to get any firewood out of. I'll bet they paid a couple thousand dollars for the first one!

    Money can be had if you have creative mind an eye on what to look for.

    Yes I hope to do something like that for the A frame at the tree farm.
    I think a person could make some money if you have a land owner who would enjoy having one from their own woods.
    Not to mention just doing them for general.
    Pricing would be the thing.
    I could run a log to a local Amish mill and have itplaned

    That is uber cool. What would be cooler would be to know what they look for and then how it's stabilized. I assume that they are injecting/coating with some type of epoxy or other 'glue.'

    I have an oak tree with a huge marl on it about ten feet up. I'd have to harvest the tree. The marl is probably three feet in diameter. Might make an interesting table top or three.
