I think that's a strong argument for Mtronic. Not possible to run the saw when it is too lean and lock it up.

Good air filtration is a must as well with a saw that may not get the most meticulous maintenance.

Tough question you have there FF. For me it would boil down to how the employees treat your equipment. If they tend to take reasonable care, then I could see the extra investment being worthwhile. Also is performance a part of the equation? That is where the 241 will walk all over a 251. If it doesn't matter if the job takes an hour or an hour and a half, then the extra $200 saved goes a long ways towards replacing a 251 that might get crushed, straight-gassed, or stolen.

Well I am working close to one of the better Stihl dealers in Virginia right now so maybe I will stop in after work and see if they have one in stock.

I bet it's quite a bit lighter than an 026 in practice with the B&C mounted. Remember this is a 3005 mount saw, not the 3003 mount the 026/260 uses. The bars are going to be lighter and smaller.

I'm starting to disregard HP ratings and powerhead dry weights from manufacturers. I like hands-on testing, video and scale shots (naked or with B&C, dry or fully fueled and ready to go) for number crunching these days.

Tell you what, if I remember, I'll weigh it with Swag's 026 at the G2G for ya. ;)

Fully fueled ready to cut is the best way to get weights. You can't cut with a dry pho.

Yup, same as its papa, the 024AV, same weight and "X" less hp than an 026. But the 241 is a lb less than its bigger brother the 261 this time. We're going to compare it against my 16" Picco 026 straight up!

I'm not sure I believe the HP numbers either. My 362 has 4.5% more power (on paper...4.4 vs 4.6) than the old 361. This may be true, but the 362 absolutely pulls harder than the 361 did, especially when you lean on it a little.

I loves me some 026.... but this is a better saw IMO. I haven't tested them side by side, but my 241 felt stronger than the last couple 026's and 260's did to me. I do believe they are a tad lighter too, regardless of what Stihl suggests, but not by much.
If I was on a budget between the two, I would buy a used 026 for 200 smackers all day long.

You're eyes are good but your ears failed you. I killed the saw before I pulled it out of that cut. ;)

FINALLY!!!!! FINALLY!!!! EVERYONE IS SEEING THE 241 LIGHTT!!!!! LOLOLOLOL

Glad to see other people have the same opinion of the ms241c as I do. When i posted my opinion on arborist site a few months ago, there were a lot of doubter's.

Waiting to hear other people's thoughts when running the ms241c and 550xp side by side or other 50cc saws. The 241 is a very surprising saw out of the box.

I think it's real appeal is it's handling and the lighter weight than the 261. It makes darn good power for 42cc as well. We really didn't get it off the first tank but I did get it to run some sub-10 second passes through a 12" x 12" cant :).

I have one on order, should be in on Thurs.. It is only money right? I noticed another problem about to happen with the 250, the black plastic handle has a crack in it under the saw and is about to break.
