Sounds like a good idea to stick near your family, and many here know how expensive it is to raise a little one. Glad you got out of the last job and are closer to your dad, and also glad you are moving up job wise yet again. WTG
Been working on some changes to our HVAC system here lately (month or so) Installing the Kuuma wood furnace that I got a year ago into its permanent home (ran it as an "add-on" last winter), installing a new to me fuel oil furnace, and the existing AC "A coil" into that. Quite a project removing the old Yukon Husky wood/oil combo furnace, moving the Kuuma into its place, bringing in the new oil furnace, and revising all the ductwork as needed to tie it all together. Been without central air at least 5 weeks now...the first 2 weeks were cool enough, no big deal, but the little window unit has run like crazy trying to keep up here lately (not really succeeding either...better than nothing though!) Finished the ductwork up earlier this week, wiring finished tonight, well, enough to make the AC work anyways! I'll post some pics of it all soon...maybe post a thread on it...
They are zone 3, so I'm not too sure they are "uncomfortable". They definitely don't like hot summers though - for short burst of heat they get along, but not those long drawn out months of high heat. They love it in NH anyway.
Finally got my wife's anniversary gift yesterday. Also found out it has a super air conditioner! For sure the next 2 days will test that.
