Wild rabbits dang near killed two of my trees and got a few of my gooseberry bushes, I want to find some traps before next winter. Anyone know where I can get some cheap?
Havahart traps run around $40. But you can build one for a lot cheaper http://mdc.mo.gov/sites/default/files/resources/2010/05/4525_2245.pdf . Spray the inside with apple cider and use lettuce, brussel sprouts, etc. for bait. Of course there is also the tried and true method of using a .22 (cheap and puts food on the table ta boot)
If you have a tractor supply store nearby they sell a two pack of traps for like $25 or so when they go on sale. One larger than the other. I use the big one for groundhogs, raccoon and possum and have not had any problems.
I used to have plans for a trap that is easy to make and all made out of wood. I'll see if I can find them. Here are some images. The one I used to make is like the third one in. https://www.google.com/search?q=how...B-issQSI_YAY&ved=0CDAQ9QEwAw&biw=1680&bih=852
Thats what we used growing up, worked great. I noticed harbor freight had traps pretty cheap as well.
