Took my old husky 266 XP to a guy 2 wks ago, to have him replace the rubber mounts in it. They were so bad, it was almost like it was double jointed, boy, it was bad, so bad, i wouldn't even use it all that much. So, he called this evening, ''saw's ready'' so i hot foot it to his place, and he said '' it feels pretty good'' i took hold of it, and WOW, does it ever!! More like a new saw now. Then he had a small plastic baggie with a few things in it. He said i had a small leak in my fuel line, so he replaced that, the chain adjuster fell apart when he pulled the bar off, and the fuel filter was pretty bad so he replaced that as well. Then he showed me what was in the tank when he emptied it, looked like dust, dried out dust. Total cost 40 bucks, i feel i got a deal. He did me a favor to replace the fuel line, and filter, cleaning the tank was a bonus. And, the chain adjuster, might have been my fault, not sure, i'll have to look it over tomorrow. Anyway, to me, he did me a real favor, i trust the guy a lot, and he's as honest as the day is long. I try to stay ahead of him on the money part of it. He'll adjust something for me and say i don't owe him anything but, i always pay him some thing to make it right between us. I don't ever want him to feel i'm just there for the freebee's. So, tomorrow the XP gets a new chain, and a test. This is a old fallers saw i bought last fall and had planned on getting some things fixed on it.
