Well I have made the decision to ditch cable, I got a antenna checked it out and seems to work good for my local stations for live news/weather. I am trying to decide what streaming service I can use for the other stations, I have looked at hulu plus and sling, that's where the FHC fourm comes in who is using what services , pros vs cons help me out guys and gals .
I've got Hulu and like it, but I don't have experience on "live TV" like some do. I mainly watch old shows that I like. Looking to ditch the dish myself.
Cut the cord here 3 years ago, never looked back. Ended up getting Netflix about 3 mos ago, but don't use it to often. Nice to watch shows or movies from a phone or tablet right to the TV
Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Wife signed up for Hulu, but don't know if she still has the subscription. Oh yeah, and still bound to DirecTV, which I would LOVE to ditch. I watch a lot of stuff on the Tube.
Amazon Fire TV Stick til midnight tonight for "Prime Days". $15 for stick, all the free stuff that comes with it if you are a Prime member, and 2 months of HBO for free. PM me for the link if you are interested, it appears I can only copy/paste the regular $ link.
Forgot....we have a small Roku TV in the bedroom, and a Roku box hooked to the one in the living room.
Subbed for the share of info. We’d love to cut the cord but I’m too addicted M football. I’m afraid I’d loose access.
I switched to internet only and subscribe to Netflix and HBO now. I am also an Amazon Prime member, but I probably wouldn’t sign up for just for the streaming. Lack of sports would be the biggest drawback, but I don’t watch much sports these days.
Moved here in 1991. Always just had an antenna nothing else. I don’t feel like we’ve really missed anything. I’m like Chaz I really enjoy watching the old shows over & over again. Andy Griffith, Green Acres etc.
My apologies! Just funnin. I worked in Cincinnati with Ohio state fans for 2 years. I razzed them about Michigan all they time. I’ve been wearing Michigan sweatshirts since I was a kid.
I dropped Direct a couple months ago . Bill was north of $140/month for the basic package. Signed up for Sling on a free month trial and dropped that in less that 2 days. Not the content I was looking for and no live stream. Signed up for Hulu and love it. $45/month . No contract . You can actually deactivate your account when you go on vacation and avoid a bill. Reactivate when you get back. My daughter has a Netfix account so we have access to that as well. Between Amazon Prime TV, Hulu and Netflix the content is unbelievable. I would never go back to cable or dish. I'm not into sports but I did notice they have a decent lineup of channels. Gotta have good high speed internet and we did have to buy a wifi extender for upstairs TVs ($25)
Booo! (I am not a sports fan, so I couldn't care less, but around here you get a bad rep if you don't hate on blue )
We have never had cable here. Always antenna and streaming videos. Now that we moved, our download mbps is no more than 3. The infrastructure here only allows this through phone lines. No fiber optic here either. We can't do much with that. We are switching this week to cable provided Internet up to 60 mbps and landline. Still no cable. We find enough through fire stick, hulu and Netflix. YouTube provide plenty too.
actually I can care less about sports also, I do it just to fire up the diehards. There is a long story behind it.
