SisIL brought a few rounds over yesterday and we got 'em all split, with a plan to do it again today.
She showed up with one of her Gsons and I couldn't get the splitter started. Pulled the plug, yep, getting gas but didn't check spark. It was running just peachy keen yesterday.
Anyway, after an hour of messing with it, we called it for the day and she went home.
I went out a bit ago to see if I could get it running and lo and behold what did I find? Yeah, the on-off switch was in the off position. :headbang:Started right up.
So, I went ahead and split a few rounds since I was there anyway (mine, hers never made it out of the pick-em-up).
Moral of the story? It's quite often something simple.

    I might regret this..
    :heidi:
    :startled:

But Chazsbetterhalf tried to start the splitter once this summer with the same results (and same cause).

I was expecting another major catastrophic malfunction of equipment.

Had a buddy of mine that had to leave work early one day because his wife called and said the car would not start. After verifying it wouldn't, and checking battery connection and condition he got back in and looked down to find the shift lever in drive. He engaged park and it roared to life.

So yes the simple thing can get the best of us.

Years back when i was a teenager my uncle bought me my first real chain saw, a Stihl 028AV. I was driving his tractor to the woods to cut and the saw fell out of the cart on the way. I started the saw but the chain wouldnt spin. Went back and told my uncle. He quietly starts it, releases the chain brake and walla, the chain moves. I felt like a dummy! (chain brakes were a relatively new thing at the time and i was wet behind the ears. Still am just not as bad)!

I had a similar thing happen as well, tore the saw apart to figure out what I broke, then realized it was only the brake.

Very true, many are not willing to admit their mistakes.

I however am not one of those people, I make many mistakes, but I try not to make the same mistake twice.

People are well informed if they know what doesn't work, as much as they are by what does
