    Congrats!
I bailed the first of May.
    So far, I'm lik'n it.
It has been a bit of a challenge so far though...…
I have to realize that I don't have to hurry.
    Nothing is a rush.
If I don't get it done today.....I'll be home tomorrow to finish it....
or when it gets done....it gets done.
After responding to ~40k service calls in 36years,
    I changed my phone message...…

3.5 - 4 years for me. Could go now but not with the pension amount I want. Every time I take a few days off I say "Wow, this is what retirement will be like." Only thing I worry about is the winter, after deer season and before spring work. May have to find another hobby or a part time job.

Hobby's are expensive, I'd look for a job.

    OK. Not
    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

At 50, I didn't prepare for retirement in my younger days, so I figure I'll be working "for the man" for quite a while, but I try to impart upon the youth to not make the same mistakes I've made.

It's not dire, I figure after the house/property is paid off in ~6 yrs, monthly bills should drop to around $1,000 - $1400/mo.

But I refuse to become a Walmart greeter.

Unless I can say "Welcome to Walmart, now get your sh## and get out."

I retired in 2001, wondered where I found the time to go to a paying job after a bit.
Now besides the normal stuff I used to do around the place I mow a few lawns in the summer for extra spending money. I also mow road side ditch banks for a few folks for spending money.

In the fall and winter I belong to a group who hunt coyotes for spending money. We also take care of nucent calls from farmers who have experinced coyotes killing lambs, calves and even getting in the feed bunks to eat the feed for the cattle.

I waited until today to post, I am 9 years today from my minimum retirement age, without penalty. Its a very exciting time, 9 more and pop smoke.

Congrats to all that are waiting around the campfire...have a beer ready.

The last few years weren’t bad knowing I could get by and could pull the plug if things got too bad at work.
And always plenty to do now to keep me occupied and out of most trouble.

I had a countdown app before I went. Hadn’t been that excited since I was a kid waiting for Christmas.

Amazing what there is for apps out there. My problem is fixing a date to countdown to. I am enjoying my job too much.

Yeah, mine is only a tentative date. My OAP should start around the 28th of August or so. Since August 31 is a Monday, I certainly will be gone by then, but I will not be working past that time for sure. Over 45 years cutting meat and I'm quite sick of it. The only meat cutting I will be doing is what's on my plate.
