Well I was wondering if I could just pass it through the bottom of the wire horse fencing I have and when they got close they would be reminded to not get close. ? Any reason that would not work? I would have to have two collars and two transmitters? Is that right? Hmmmm. I am afraid to find out what that would cost. Could you give me an estimated cost?

I remember one time we were talking of this elsewhere and I think someone told me to tie a piece of wire to the dogs collar and attach a bolt to the end of it. So when the dog starts digging the bolt flops up and nails him in the head. He/she gets tired of that quick. LOFL! I can't remember it exactly though.

I do not need a vet bill for a damaged eye from a bolt though!

Yeah, you could put it on an existing fence. For two collars and a transmitter you'd be looking at around $350, give or take.

I'm sure there are many brands to look at on line Gas. I think my BIL system he uses with 2 Jack Russells is the buried wire connected to a main unit and then, collars on the 2 dogs. Don't know if he had handheld transmitters two. That's a great idea about lacing the wire thru the bottom of the fence… would want to be sure the metal in the fence didn't interfere with the system.

I highly doubt it would. All it is doing is transmitting an AM radio signal through the wire....and when the collar gets close enough to pick up the signal...POW. I guess the fence could amplify interference, but that's a long shot.

Ya. Our female dog is a little skiddish. I don't want it to scare the crap out of her either. I don't know if it would or if she would just get use to it. ?

It took my dog about 3 days to figure it out (and he's pretty stupid, even for a dog). You can set the collar to noise for the first couple days...then to shock...then back to noise. They don't forget what that noise means. If you put the flags up (something new to represent the boundary) then the learn a lot faster.

Good luck on that test Jetjr. Study hard and then get a good night's sleep before the test. I have confidence in ya. The snowing thing, I'm not sure about.

Thanks its not really something I can study for its more of a skills test. Stuff I do regularly but I hate being center of attention/put on the spot. If it was up to me I would just stay a lineman but the company makes you do this. I figure the new position will be a learning experience but its also two solid years of shift work.

My little guy finally had his first softball practice tonight, every other one has been rained out. Now I hope to get my baseboards stained before putting the kiddos to bed.

Sorry, no pics at the moment, but I did manage to build a bottle jack splitter today plus get a pick-up load of mixed hard wood ( white and yellow birch, soft and hard maple, plus a little bit of pine). The splitter needs a small mod, but otherwise works well.

Finished driving corner posts today well for a little while. One didn't cooperate and all but 3 drove hard. Was a beautiful day minus the wind.

We, at about 5:30 am, tied a record low temperature of 37 degrees. Frost has returned. I'm holding back til Sunday to plant. But there will be some unhappy Gardners in the KC area today.

When we lived farther south (about 250 miles), I could plant about the end of May.
Not up here, unless it's the cool crops.
Stores are selling maters, but I won't put 'em in yet. If I had a greenhouse, they'd be in there.
I'd bet there will also be some unhappy gardeners up here too.
