Yes, there would be some issues to deal with. I most always go scrounging in the woods. The couple times I worked a pile of logs up I had my splitter right in there too. When the rounds got built up to the awkward stage, I'd just wiggle my splitter in there and split them out of the way. Also good to have a couple wedges and axe close, chances of a bar pinch are higher doing it that way.

Thanks, and it sure does! 3 holes on the far left were difficult due to rocks. I needed to pry many out, some were difficult for me to pull up out of the hole. 2 holes had boulders that surely go down beyond the frost line, but I only got 30-36" down. Learning to use the PhD properly is key to lessen the amount of shear bolts. Out of 12 holes, I went through 5or6 bolts I believe. Not to bad I guess.

Love the setup! How many times to you tend to go over the trail to get it the way you like it?

20190615_160124.jpg Last load of maple from the wind storm a few weeks ago. Thought maple was supposed to split easy. This stuff laughed at the axe.

Are 7200 is near 30 years old at the newest and never fails to get the job done. Some day I'll have the money to buy a more modern bota but this one just keeps getting it done.

Just hoping to keep the brush off of it and smooth enough to get up and down. They ran log trucks down it when it was first made and this bottom part was packed hard and rough, so smoothing it out some.
Hopefully once or twice a year to smooth out the rain and elk damage and it should be okay.
The box scraper made it a lot better than what it was.

A friend came by with his backhoe and dug up the stump and short tree from the February storm blow down. IMG_20190530_065146.jpg IMG_20190613_094431168_HDR.jpg Had a little help this afternoon, so I started cleaning up the roots. My sidekick was making sure I did it right. Got one load picked up.
IMG_20190617_201611709.jpg My hunny and my little side kick helped me pull up more roots. IMG_20190617_203335372.jpg

Been clipping pastures in the evenings, following behind the cattle as they rotate through. Some pastures have buttercup, and some rushes.

This pasture was clipped a few days ago. They have torn it up with their hooves due to all the rain. I’m not sure if I will let time smooth it back out or try to do something (too rocky to plow).

It would be dead-quiet here if the tractor wasn’t running.

Hard to tell, but I’m near quite a few houses. And a pretty stone church.

Heading back home. We saw a tiny fawn at this crossing a couple of nights ago. We have the cattle fenced out of the stream and a doe uses this area every year.

We got 95 round bales cut and wrapped over the weekend, and half of them are back at the barn. The Kubota does the stacking at the barn. A dairy farmer friend's JDs do the heavy work, and I do a bunch of the seat time mowing and raking. These rotary rakes sure are nice.

So true, went to pick up hay for my wife's daughters horse this weekend and the farmer had an approximately 275' x 100' x at least 25' tall metal building that he says is usually full this time of year with straw and hay. It was just about empty, would only sell 10 bails of hay. Very sad situation...He said he needs 4 days of no rain to cut his fields so hopefully this week he will be able to replenish some of his supply.

Was using a different kind of bota the other day. Rental that I did some trail work with. Had been so much rain here I couldn’t get into some area for trail work. Also used it to clear a new future pasture area. Wicked fast for clearing!

Once you get used to spinning 360*, your spoiled. Backhoe's are great but an excavator and a tractor go together like peanut butter & jelly.:D
