It rained again before noon. Last night it dumped. I bet we got 2+ inches of rain in 2 days. I know that's not much compared to some this year, but we had a ton of flooding last spring. While we've gotten a ton of rain this year, we have not had the flooding like last year. Yes our farmers are not having a good time, but last year it was snow melt plus rain. This year it's rain after the snow melt, and not really any record snow that melted at once like last year.
Ok, this post ^ ^ ^ was from Sunday morning...went to calling hours for the former co-workers dad last night...got home and went to see my high school buddy after he got through with his grandma's funeral...while I was there I got a text that another buddy's brother died in a motorcycle crash yesterday! Only 53... For anyone that is counting, that's 5 acquaintances that have passed on (or I just found out about) since last Thursday!!! Enough already!
It’s hard growing older we had the same situation last year. 4 funerals in one week makes you realize just how precious all the memories and moments with those we know are that’s for sure!
Yes, absolutely. Unfortunately I have yet another update...got to work and my assistant asks me if I knew about Mike (co-worker, but in another dept) he called off sick yesterday, and when his wife got home he was dead...another one in his mid 50's... That's 6 now...
Thank god I dont know you personally! Had a scare of my own yesterday, got my first ambulance ride too. Slight tightness and barely noticeable pain in my chest, and a lil difficulty breathing. Whole body didnt feel right. All tests were negative for heart issues thankfully. Need to follow up with a cardiologist for further testing. I'm thinking it's just stress related from work, but now my wife has me on a short leash. I couldn't even go to the bathroom without her checking on me yesterday. Gonna lie low until I see the DR.
Uh oh, I'll have to start making deliveries! No worries, I'll store your wood in fine style until you can firewood again.
Sounds like a plan! I still have last weekends load in the bronco. Shes going to forcibly do most of the offload and stack.
You never know what is going to happen today. Take care Mwalsh9152 I am glad it wasn't heart issues but stress is just as bad for wrecking havoc with your system. We went for a walk this morning and it was gorgeous. It is supposed to rain but seeing as we are looking after our daughter's dog while they go kayak camping on the west coast, I just hope it isn't too hard. We definitely need rain but it would be nice if it only rained at night. We are right into summer mode here - probably better than our usual summers. We are becoming concerned about our ornamental cedars as they haven't received their usual allotment of spring rain. We have soaker hoses on them right now and will give them a few days of water that way.
Wow. One really has to feel for brenndatomu and Mwalsh9152 as this has to be a really tough week. Let us hope the worst is over. When you get to be my age, you find that most of your old school buddies are gone or are so laid up they can do nothing. But thanks be to God, the last time I checked the obituary page, my name was not on there. I have one old friend who I visit occasionally. He and I are near the same age (6 months apart) and he has been laid up for at least the last 10 years and can't get around at all any more. Has to go to dialisis 3 times per week too. The last time we visited he told me of 3 more school friends who had passed away and another (female) whose weight was down to around 80 lbs and has hospice. It does sort of wake you up...
Wife and I might go looking at a few new cars today. Nothing wrong with our present car but wife seems to want another one. Maybe for her anniversary...
Time to build another loft to store hay in the last corner of the barn. My son and I have plenty of work to do. Everyone else is standing or laying around. Don’t get up bunny.
