Arsenic occurs naturally in the ground. We have places near me with very high levels. I think they mined in the civil war, if I remember correctly. There are probably more than one reason it wound up in your drinking water. Fracking the well may or may not be one of those reasons. The good thing is that you have basically public water that is monitored. Imagine having a private well and not doing frequent testing.

When someone does not have good water you really realize the importance of it! With arsenic it may clear up all by itself...I hope.

Just to give an idea of how wet it is, yesterday I drove about 70 miles and 99% of that through farmland. I'd venture to guess only 50% of the land has been farmed so far. Really extremely sad now as there is little that can be planted now with hopes of getting a decent crop come fall. One farmer told me he planted some corn a week ago Sunday and the following day it rained all day and the entire field was under water. So much for that corn. I did not have the heart to ask if he had crop insurance.

On the other hand, it has helped to produce a bumper crop of mosquitoes.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, if it was never showing before then you'd think the fracking opened up water from other areas with high concentrations. Definitely something you want to keep an eye on.

Have a shallow well at my project house, but not hooked up or useable right now. I'll have to fill up a big bottle or 2 at mom's today. Those big blue ones for the lunchroom water machines. Should do for a while

Don't those filter like even a Brita, or a Culligan tap filter, let alone an inline water filter remove arsenic?

Found this publication. It's cited at several credible looking sites.

Effectiveness of table top water pitcher filters to remove arsenic from drinking water - ScienceDirect

The filter referenced "Zero Water" looks very similar to Brita types. It can be bought as a fridge container with a tap off amazon for $25 it looks like. It showed the best results.

Edit: it's linked and posted here on a .gov site so it's a credible real study.Effectiveness of table top water pitcher filters to remove arsenic from drinking water. - PubMed - NCBI

That's kinda strange though...naturally occurring arsenic in the aquifers is not a common problem on this continent...some areas of the SW USA and a bit in Mexico, that's it. I wonder if this is a contamination issue?

Well that's good to know. Hopefully it's just temporary contamination....

wildwest what are you trying to do in Excel? I use it daily.

YouTube is always an excellent source for tutorials if you know what you are searching for.

    Hi Hoarders :)

bogieb ,Canadian border VT and cnice_37 , thank you for asking!!

I have an Excel spreadsheet with date & time and location. I need to get it into a calendar format (not calender as in text down columns, but literally a month per page for a few years format. I managed to do a pivot table, but was unable to convert properly to export to google calendar. I was able to export into Outlook calendar but cannot figure out how to add time of day and another item....

Dang you lost me. I had no idea that was possible. Of course a lot is with Excel and access. I can barely use my Outlook email list thing and I don't really cause I couldn't figure it out when I started. I just remember the names and as I type it does frequent names. That or I look at business cards or in my phone under a contact.

So.... Is your end goal is a *csv file to import to Google calendar?

Or do you want to make Excel look like a calendar, with each month in a new sheet within the *xls file?

Pretty sure I can help. PM me so we don't bore the masses;)

Getting ready to go for a walk this morning. campinspecter went for two loads of wood yesterday to finish off the last of the three logs he was after. I think he is going to be a bit stiff this morning. Over cast with the possibility of showers today.
