Only problem with that is you’re either going to bend over or get a longer bar to cut weeds. Looks good though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In not familiar with a ms310.. But from looks of your signature line a smaller saw should fit right in
I've had a MS250 for a little over a year now and it is performing very well for me as my "small" saw. I did a muffler mod on it last fall and it is a beast for it's size. I didn't want to spend a bundle on a small saw but was tired of fighting with the couple of poulans that I had for years and just keeping them running took more time that cutting wood. I had a couple small issues, but they were probably more to do with me getting broke in than the saw...LOL Hope you have as good of luck with it as I have with mine. I've cut a lot with it but it doesn't get worked to death, cuz the MS391 with MM comes out on the over 12-14" stuff. I keep the chain razor sharp and the air filter clean and it throws the chips pretty well for me being a weekend warrior.
Good on you for supporting him as he supports you via warranty service. We as dealers tend to lose money on alot of warranty claims for many reasons. Im curious as to your trimmer model and issue? Mind sharing the outcome?
I can’t wait to get a bigger saw to complement my ms250. But I gotta say for a smaller saw I think she did pretty well the past weekend (as seen on my post early Father’s Day gift) I cut about 20 rounds of red oak from 24” diameter down to about 19” at the smallest. It took some time, I went through 4-5 tanks of gas and 2-3 tanks of bar oil but she got the job done. I was impressed. Also touched up the chain twice.
Those little MS 250's seem to be a really good saw. I know lots of people that get lots of use with very few issues. Certainly seems to fit into your line up well. Congrats!
The MS 250 is purely for limbing. Nothing over 4 or 5 inches in diameter. The dealer is a great guy and my father more or less will not let go of my 025, which I am fine with. I have a 311, 461, and an 880 so I cover the charts. I have the 170 I bought late last year, but it is setup for carving. All good saws and this guy is a great dealer. They are not the ace hardware dealer, the old school dealer that knows the saws, what a square ground chain is and so on. Ask the Ace guy for a 404 ripping chain for a 30 inch bar and 9 times out of ten......totally lost. I am now waiting for the 500 to come out and then I will be done.
Nice saw, glad it followed you home. Those stores have a way like that. Went in to our dealer yesterday, our small trimmer curved shaft was messing up, he replaced the entire shaft for the second time...I was looking at the 170, 180, 250, 261...maybe get a lighter saw for the hunny to learn to use. Didn't purchase one yet, the force was strong though... I did have our huskihl tricked X029 and 25"w bar with me. Had to take in the back and fire it up, he was impressed...
Sometimes it doesn't take much of a salesman to twist an arm that already has a deathgrip on your next new toy!!!
Built this 250 for my 88 year old neighbor Last year april 27th a guy on ope forum gave me this saw. for my neighbor his 290 was getting too heavy for him. He has cut hundreds of tree's with it On his 200 acre farm I fix his saws sharpen his chains since i moved here 5 years ago I had to buy a electric chain sharpener he cuts so much fence line's storm damage etc. I rebuilt it with a tecomec piston with cabers. Seals gaskets etc. And ported it It's the only saw he'll use now i rebuilt his 360 but he doesn't even use it. He cuts 20" plus tree's with the 250 just takes his time.
Sales guy didn’t have to twist my arm at all sadly. I was going to wait for the logging show, but need the saw now. Hoping 500 hits the US soon. That one will hit the wallet much harder, but the European reviews are very positive.
