I must apologize. Until recently I thought you were a guy. Oh the assumptions we make. I thought the same about Wildwest. Digital apologies abound.

Actually, we female FHC'ers get a kick out of that when it happens.

With my user name, I don't get too many gender miscalls. It is funny when it happens, though.

They post pics of themselves all the time...well Mid winter does. But WW talks about "hubby" or WWW all time (of course that doesn't really mean she is a woman I guess).

Midwinter goes to Backwoods GtG and is labeled in like every firth pic as well. But I am sure there a few others on here that you wouldn't realize are female either, not nearly as many clues as these two leave.

Oopps I see you weren't referring to Mid Winter. BB was one I had in mind I bet you didn't know.

Funny thing, after I pulled the few strings that were holding the splits together, and dropped them on the driveway, he started kicking them! I guess he felt we were punishing the log!

Up at 4:00 AM this morning so we could go firewood harvesting. Left house at 6:00 and got back about 10:30. Overcast sky and no bugs so it was a great day. Here's a link to my thread.

Long weekend- mowing, weeding, planting, dump runs, and working on prints at night. Uugh... But it's all good.
A few weeks ago, I found and ordered a His & Hers set of .22 revolvers, on sale. I picked up a really nice belt/holster combo for one of them, but kept everything a secret from my better half. Tonight was the un-veiling .. it got dark so we called it quits outside. While she checked her e-mails, I strapped on the "rig". I casually sauntered by her, chit-chat as I flaunted the new addition. :picard:She never looked up from her phone/ Pad/ thing she stares at. I had to make a pointed comment before she looked me in the eyes. Then I did the eye-roll and shook my butt to get her to look.
To make the rest of the story short, she picked which revolver she wanted, tried on the rig and picked out a new one for herself. Her's will be a nice Burgundy color.
She's kinda excited about this, this type of rig is a new thing for her. She likes the look.
I'm ecstatic that she didn't ream me out about buying this stuff. ;)

I went Mountain bike riding with a few friends this morning, the weather was clear but cold so we kept moving. After lunch I was sitting in my favourite bike shop chatting with the blokes when I got a message from another friend offering to take me flying in his light airplane.

So I left the shop and headed out to the local airport.

    In the landing pattern.
The airstrip looks small from up there but Nev only uses 1/3 of its length.

Thanks to Neville what started as a good day turned out to be an awesome day.

Up early again this morning as campinspecter is headed out to the woods without me. After we got back from firewood gathering, I made the mistake of doing some weeding and then spent the evening knitting. My hands are sore this morning. I am a slow learner when it comes to learning how to pace yourself as you age.

Absolutely not! You are a grand grandmother indeed! Shoot, I started splitting wood by hand with an axe at a younger age (or maybe about that age? I was something like 5 or 6 at the time) and don't think I turned out too bad even though I did not have permission to do any splitting at the time. Now that I think about it, I never did get permission. They just left me alone. Probably were happy to have more help (I was the youngest in the family with 2 boys and a girl ahead of me).
