It’s a Shaun Carr ported 394 (94cc). I should have video’d The first 2 cuts. It went though that log like an animal! Filing that chain isn’t fun...
A 350 friends gave me. Been sitting in the barn for a few years after it caught an oak before it hitting the ground. AV mounts and the Jonsered bar had taken perminant wows. But that seems to about all. Has 152ish compression and no transfer as is. It’s sitting here letting the Motoseal set with the gasket deleted. Has about 020 squish.
This is the delta after the gasket delete. I was pretty happy with that until after some cuts and got some idle issues after WOT. Idled fine on a start, so i started it and sprayed carb cleaner on the joints and I could kill it on the base area so there is an air leak there. I did have some lag issues on reassembly and I’m hoping that’s what’s causing it. Tore it down this morning, cleaned it, and built it back. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.
I’ve got stuff to build 3 of these, just need 5 minutes to do it! Plans to do one with the 346 conversion, 350 44mm and a 45mm Edit to add.... how’d the 51/55 build end up?
I’m going to grind out the transfer caps and do a retune..... for now...... I’ve got a 372xt I might make a little more wild or de- strato it, not sure yet.
A neighbor that I fix saws for gave me tis yesterday . It was fairly groady ,and needs some pieces parts which ,are on order . Got it running after some cleaning and tweaking .
Came out great. Thanks for asking. I still have a few in a bucket on the back burner. Trying to decide what I want to do next. I have a 181 SE that runs but haven’t been through yet. I also have this 026 with 70 psi. I have little work on Stihl’s so I’m leaning toward the 026.
I’ve got an 028av super in a box and a new OEM jug to go with it that’s on the wayyyy back burner haha
great saw! My first "real" chain saw. My late uncle gave it to me when i was 17 in 1985. Someone borrowed it and used raw gas. Wish i saved it.
