Upper 50's & about an inch of rain that we really don't need here.:headbang:Stiff NW wind & sunny now, but it's supposed to rain again tomorrow night ugh. Getting tough to get anything done. Talked to the neighbor tonight & he's still got 500 acres of corn to plant. Not good!

Heading in to get a little pine fire lit after finishing up some stacking. I'll feel silly starting the stove in mid June, but the Girls are chilly, and we heat with wood.. No reason not to warm the place up a little!

OMG! That is awful for sure. It's been coming down here now for the last week or so. On Monday I bought gas for 2.779 and was happy it had come down that far. Then I drove 20 miles and saw it for 2.549. Screwed again!

Too late for corn now. Getting almost too late for decent beans too. I thank my Lord that I am not farming this year.

We got 1/2" yesterday. Another rain coming toward us now. I am beginning to wonder if I could find some gopher wood to build a big boat?

Forgot to post this last night. Was a gorgeous day Friday with sun and clouds and a good breeze. Nice and dry with no humidity.
Bark chunks and hardwood pallets (oak & poplar) in the firepit. Sirloin steak on the charcoal. IMG_0505.JPG IMG_0506.JPG

another top ten day. Sun was out all day, good breeze blowing. Temps in low 70's now. Hardwood scraps, pallets and bark in the firepit. Just grilled chicken kielbasa and ate on the deck. Very comfortable evening. Breeze keeping the skeeters at bay! Give me the whole Summer like this and ill never complain about heat again! IMG_0508.JPG

75ºF outside this aft. 65ºF now. Sunny all day although the wind kicked up quite a bit this aft.
Nice weather for removing sod from the lawn.
    Just burning calories.

60 here and cloudy. Had some rain and looks like more on the way. I will be very happy when this crappy weather vacates... This has been the worst spring I remember.

We got 1.25 inches of rain last evening and today it is cloudy with temps in the 60's. Certainly isn't good corn growing weather.

58 & rain & or drizzle all day here. Was cloudy humid & upper 60's yesterday. There's gonna be very little in the way of crop yields around here this fall I'm afraid. This weather is not good, as Backwoods Savage said, worst Spring in memory.

For sure this is not a good one and yes, the corn that is in the ground doesn't seem to be growing much. Ground is just too cool yet and very little sunshine to warm it up. Shoot, it's even so cool that the mosquitoes are late this year. We should have had another hatch but not yet. Fine with me though...

Speaking of skeeters, they tell us there are 60 different breeds of them in Saginaw County.

This last week we've been averaging a high of 88 °F with lows of 49 °F. Humidity at 21% on average. Partly cloudy skies with the monsoon season officially underway. Going to be sweating a bit with the increased humidity but the forest needs the rain. This time of year we have all kinds of people coming up from the Phoenix area to escape the heat. Unfortunately, many of these people don't understand that leaving campsites with a fire still burning or throwing cigarette butts out of their window can destroy a beautiful landscape that takes a century or more to mature.
