Well the car hoarding portion of this score is done, we got every scrap of wood out of the neighbor's yard and back to my house this AM. Mwalsh9152 split the rest of the cherry, and a little red maple, which almost filled the Bronco. Next we tackled the locust, he split and I fed him rounds and took away the splits. We managed to pile up about a cord. There is at least that much left to go.
ive seen that and went for some in North Haven a few weeks back. It was gone. Tree guys had caused a traffic back up for several weeks in the Southbound lane. My GF had been going that way.
That's for sure! I've made many true friends of fellow hoarders here also, & I know of many others as well. So many good things happen because of FHC!
If you get one, there are several of us that will sign your "Splitter Operators" card since you have already received some excellent instruction. Note Backwoods Savage She is operating in the correct configuration.
Midwinter you are a true testament to what it means to be a hoarder. It is definitely awesome to see you and Mwalsh9152 work together towards a common goal, and equity for both. Hoard on!!!
uh oh! Thats great for you but what other die hards on FHC handsplit? I dont follow this thread that much and am just reading this.
I had one of those unexpected days yesterday. I was poking around in the driveway when the tree service kid I've had some dealings with pops up with a full dump trailer. He said that the fees at the town dump have gone way up (which I suspected), and the only other place he has to dump wood is 25 miles away. Could he please dump his wood here? It was not the best, red maple with a punky heart at the base, and a few pieces of pine. But, what the hey. I took it, and it was such an ugly pile I didn't even take a pic of it. Kind of funny, he gave me $20! He asked if he could bring me a load a week. I said that's too often, how about just when you are really desperate. I stripped the bark off the maple, split off most of the punk, and took the pine to the dump. All I have to show you is the end result, on top of some locust. I have some rounds left to do.
