The locust I trimmed up, but the cherry was too far gone, and the gross-out factor pretty high, with all the ants. The birds had a feast of all the larvae in the grass.

Are we thinking about ah maybe getting a splitter might not be bad.

The one we went half on was a best friend of Chaz since grade school. I think it was about $1200 all together nut it has been working out just great.

Actually, I think our "half" was around $900-$950

But still wouldn't change a thing.

Hand splits are prettier, though, without the shredding.
    Seriously, I think I'll buy a splitter.

Hydraulic splits are better as well when u hit an ant nest and they come pouring out. Jump away till the ram finishes. Can’t do by hand.

Wait until you hit some oak or locust with the splitter.

And I knew that you were going to say you were gonna have to buy one before the week was over.

Finally got the cherry out of the Bronco and stacked last night. I figured about 1/3 of a cord in the truck, and the math gave me .35

Forgot to take a before picture.

Excellent. As soon as I am able to get away from my desk, I will head that way.

I’m jealous of your locust score. The last couple days i’ve seen a good sized, limbed, locust trunk sitting on the shoulder of the beltway. The beltway is 3-6 lane, wall to wall traffic for most of the day. I am pretty sure I would cause an accident, get a ticket or worse if I pulled over and grabbed the chainsaw out of the trunk, but it doesn't stop me from thinking about it.

I know your pain! Every time I head to my office in NJ, I travel Rt 15 in Ct. There are hundreds of cords of cut down hardwoods on the side of the road the entire way. If I were closer, I would have someone drop me off with a saw and then come back for quick pickups!
