Backwoods Savage has remarked that I could fit a lot of wood in my pool.

Just ask yourself. What wood the Romans do? Go higher! Stack walks around the pool for privacy.

You said the pool doesn't get very warm. Just throw a bunch of rounds in the pool, and early fall have a carnival, charge $$ to go bobbing for rounds....

Sounds like a good idea since they did all the saw work for us.

Well Mwalsh9152 went home sore but happy with a half a cord of split cherry in the Bronco. Sorry not many pictures, we were working too hard! I've got a driveway stacked with locust .. IMG_20190609_38221.jpg
And this is what's left in the neighbor's yard.
I'd say we took about half of it today. The neighbors are really nice people. IMG_20190609_11794.jpg IMG_20190609_2662.jpg
Apparently they hired one guy who cut the big locust and disappeared. Then they had to hire a real tree service to finish the job. By the time they came, I had left my note, so they asked the tree service to cut it into rounds because someone wanted it. They did a nice job, not too many cookies. And they left a lot of small diameter stuff which usually would get chipped.
Here's a cool black locust round, before it got split up. IMG_20190609_57997.jpg I'll peck away at the job this week, and hopefully Mwalsh9152 and I can finish up next weekend.

It splits a little easier than red oak. It has less water when fresh cut, and has a straight grain that can flare out, but doesn't curl. Knots in big rounds can be a problem.

With locust, the ingrown branch wants to stay intact, and you end up chipping around it.
