Good grief they are there hang their feeders. You aren't likely to see them without the feeder up.

My left side is a bit fouled up and that is my dominant side. Even though I tend to favor that side I can mix somethings up.

Hi. Back from vacation, lol. Went to Van fest in Washington state, north and west of Ephrata, had a blast, while there, got call from neighbor his wife was off work for a week, she wanted to go fishing, so they were headed to Fort Peck. Left WA van fest on monday, drove 10.5 hours home, loaded PU camper with water, food, fishing gear, slept for a few hours, then drove almost 7 hours east to Fort Peck, and fished a lot!! I had a blast, finally areal vacation, even if it was split up. Gotta clean camping gear out of PU camper, and the van, but not until I get some rest, lol.

Thanks for the well wishes. Gotta do some electrical work this morning, then get a little rest and back to work tonight. Don't see any Harley riding today. Wifey is working early then has to represent us at nieces birthday party. They are calling for bad thunder storms tonight, hoping for a no problem night at home or at work. Or for any of you good folks.

Sitting here sipping my morning coffee and wishing I could try out the little stove with the new controls.

Just too warm to build a fire.
AC ran on and off yesterday most of the afternoon....I am not going to build a fire just so the AC can fight with it ...

Next week looks like a day or so with cool showery weather.
If it gets down to 65 to 66 F in the house I will build a fire and give things a go...

    PRIME TIME
This morning dawned cloudy and cool at 65 F in the house it was time to Rock the new controller under LIVE FIRE...

    All went very well

    Some still photos too

Mechanically it's the same old tune..."A fine balancing act" to get a good fire.

Settings one, two and three are very usable.
Four and five are outside of reasonable firing with the shells.

The voltage on the Combi fan works in a narrow window.

    Sixty to seventy volts...NUFF SAID

    A very good result...
Anything better is going to take some revamping of the fire pot...and I am dubious of even thinking about going there...

The little stove has been a real nice unit since it came home in 2009 and as the old saying goes...
"If it ain't broke...DON'T FIX IT"

No.nice day for a change. Maybe it will be dry enough for several days to dry out the back swamp so i can get the mower out.

We have rain coming by mid week.

Definitely looking forward to more live fire stove testing on the little stove.

Going to finish getting the new controller wired into the big stove now that we won't need it.

Until fall we will likely not need anything more than the little stove....and it's ready for prime time.

    In your houses?

Opening up windows would have put me down in the 40's inside - especially with the winds howling.

We’re averaging 4-5 days of rain and 40* nights for over a month now. Yesterday we took weed Weedwhackers out to the field to start to mow down the Winter rye cover crops. I normally mow or disk it down and then plow it in, wait several weeks while it decomposes and it is incorporated as green manure into the soil. The problem is the fields are so saturated that I can’t take the tractor out to prep the field. The neighboring dairy farmers haven’t been on their fields either. They’re expecting to have their corn in ground so that by July 4th it’s suppose to be hip high. That’s not going to happen. Another shortened growing season.
My greenhouse strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, are doing well. My new greenhouse is almost complete. I still need to install some more ground anchors to keep the crazy wind we’re having from taking it away in a scene from the Wizard of Oz.
Mean while I caught a swarm of honey bees and my other hives are doing well. No bear signs yet, hopefully they’re still visiting relatives in Maine.

We had run our pellet stove for a bit yesterday, at this rate my left over stash will slowly evaporate.
