Felling Some Ash

Since they found EAB in our county about a year ago, I've been felling some off the backhill of our house property.

 

Just more pics of what has been going on.

 

I had to clean out and fell a few trees in the gully so I could get the rhino in there with a splitter, it will be opened up for the tractor this fall or spring.

 

Some of the ash I pulled out of the gully with the 4540.

This was the last of the full trees we had down which I bucked up today, I'm hoping for 8-10 face cord from when I started getting ash last year. I stacked two face last fall.

 

Well now.....someone's been busy.

Busier than I want to be.

 

Just south of us by just over an hour received double the amount of rain that they usually get in May, it was just over five inches but nothing like the midwest received.

The water is really high on Lake Ontario and the St.Lawrence River, in 2017 the water was the highest ever on L.O. & the St. Lawrence River but this year is even higher so the flooding continues.

 

That can be good or bad, or May sucked so bad I actually had a fire on the 30th.

Thanks MikeInMa , mother nature put down some nice erosion control on the back hill, this is where most of our ash is.

I had Plantar Fasciitis last summer/fall so not wanting that again, I've been taking days off if I feel anything in that heel so I'm behind.

I like gathering the ash as well.

Been a bit wet around here, but some work has been done.

 

Busy busy busy.....Zap. I cut mostly ash this winter and spring to replenish the stacks. I really like the way it burns.

Thanks Chaz , the last time I saw this much rain I was getting on the Ark.

How have you been Locust Post ? I wanted to start cutting in the winter but all the ice made it dangerous and it never warmed up so it would melt, its been a chitty month of May for lots of people.
