Another 100f degree day. Took this one as I was moving to show it really is that hot and it's not like I was sitting in blacktop with the engine running, causing a false high reading. Screenshot_20190529-204024.png

Does anyone notice e these newer trucks run what I consider way hot. If this was one of my older vehicles. I would be freaked out if I saw temps approaching 230f. This one does it regularly. It goes up to about 225 then drops to like 215 then back up again. This is in the summer of course. My older stuff I swear runs in the 200 range

I actually sold it a few months ago after not really useing it for a few years. That is my work truck though. I get a new one at work every 4 years. I drive an 01 Highlander as my every day driver . It's my wife's hand me down to me when we bought her the 04 Sequoia a few years ago I got the Highlander after I blew the Saturn up. Now I just have the Highlander and the old K10 that I'm actually putting some money into. Painting it and a few other things.

We talked about it in all the time when I was in forestry school in the early 00s. And heard about it at most conferences I attend back then. It's kind of quieted down but with it being found this far east I'm sure it will heat back up again.

I'll keep my eyes open, but even when I drive my new to me truck down to Florida, it only got the like the low 80's and the engine temp never really got that high.

I'll try to remember to look when we get a scorcher this summer.

I had this conversation with a logger. He said his few year old powerstroke ran that hot all the time and his newer equipment ran that hot.

I think they want them this hot. This truck is a 16 model and got up to 226f like that since new. Freaked me out the first time I clicked the temp screen and saw it climb like that. But it will hit those temps then go back down to like 215 then go back up a few mins later and then back down. This is all while cruising at highway speed.

Worked in conjunction with the ODNR on removing a couple hawk nests today (two different locations). The adult hawks were attacking homeowners, so permits were issued to remove the nests and to gather up the babies and take them to a rehabilitation center. It was pretty intense climbing up these trees and catching the babies. They were bigger than I expected and had sharp talons/beaks. There was a nuisance animal guy at the first site and he ended up shooting a male hawk with a shotgun while I was up in the tree. It was dive bombing towards me while I was near the nest. That had my heart pumping as these adults were aggressive and ready to fight. Otherwise, the jobs went smooth and it was really cool to hold a baby hawk. Yes, the hotter they run, the more efficient the cats are.

Monin folks... :coffee::coffee:... my honey is really getting into the lil JD tractor these days. She found one of the Maine spring quicksand spots in the lawn, and was amazed and relieved, to be able to put it in 4x4, and just back out of the muck... :tractor:... :dex:...

mat60 please take care of yourself, especially get that tooth pulled. That infection can spread to your heart. And keep those fingers clean too. I'm glad you are going in to the Dr today.

It has been a busy week. Our English cousins toured Vancouver Island for two weeks and left yesterday to go home. They had awesome weather, met quite a bit of the family and had a "brilliant time". It was supposed to be their last trip to Canada but now they are rethinking that.

When this week is over, I will have five weeks left until summer holidays. It is going to be a busy five weeks.

That I didn't no. Its been going on for 5 or 6 weeks and I been using asprin, lots of mouth wash and the pain stuff you put in your mouth. None of it is working anymore so I made the appointment. Its all about money. I didn't want to do it but soon Im going to try to get a little help with my medical needs. Thank you and take care of yourself also.

It's infected. The infection is causing the pain. Get some ammoxicillin if you have it. That will buy you a fee weeks if needed. Ammoxicillin can be bought off eBay pretty cheap. It's called "fish ammoxicillin" it's for fish tanks. It is the same capsules you buy at a pharmacy though. I keep it on hand for emergencies or if you get a bad cut etc in a dirty environment. Or an Infection that you get on like Friday afternoon or Sunday etc.
You can buy different count bottles and different mg pills as well.

And yes Midwinter is right, it can go to your brain or heart or whatever and kill you.
