    Here in Indiana its a good time to scout for black locust. They are in full bloom. Pretty white flowers. You can see them a mile away!

    Find them, mark them if need be, then cut them.
    Unless you can find a good source of dead downed, preferably off the ground.

    Good info.
    There’s a hedgerow on my road where the trees are even with the edge of the road. Some of the closest are a set of big old Sassafras. Been wondering for 50 years why the town doesn’t cut them down. Plenty of mirror scars on em.
    Just learned this year what BL bark looks like. Now I’m wondering If they're even really Sass.
    I’ll look for flowers.
