Huge shout out to Eric VW for showing and guiding me on how to build a sturdy and well constructed 10X4x8 lean-to. It took 4 or 5 days after work, around $500, and a couple cases of beer. And the urge to extended it is strong.

Looking good mark! Keep it up. I too have been hard at it trying to get three years css this year. Don’t have a wood shed yet, but like yours very much. I’d like to make one or two once I’m sure where they’ll need to be located. Wifey says she wants the wood heat, but doesn’t quite get why I need so much wood. Trying to get 8+ cord up and that takes space. Most of our yard is landscapes and she doesn’t think the wood stacks go with the landscape...
maybe a nice shed like yours would help? Hmmm

    Anyways, keep going!

Looks really nice MarkG ! The drive to get ahead on firewood is a decision you'll never regret. Being able to stay warm in the worst weather without worrying about huge heating bills is a great feeling.

I like the design, I'm wanting to put a few more around over by the barn. I guess I'll have to zip out some locust boards on the sawmill and get busy. Just finding the time is the hard part... I like the clear roof to let the sun in.

Right where I want to be.
I had quite a bit of the materials to build mine left over from other things. A shed is just another investment.
Money well spent and in a couple years, you'll still remember what you have into it, but it'll become quite clear the money is peanuts compared to the payback.
    Hoard on! :dex:

Get Fire Flake out there, it will go up twice as fast, for half the cost (including the beer cost...well, as long as you cap the photographer at 2 beers) ;) :p

MarkG needs to put up some pics of the rest of his hoard. This thread don’t represent all we’ve been helping with.

Nice work MarkG and now all you have to do is fill it! I was hoping the GTG and talking to the different folks would spur you on to bigger and better things. Looks like it has. Congratulations.

Thanks everyone for kind and motivating words. I went out to a co-workers farm Thursday to do some recon so I can fill it up.

Great work! Are those 2x6 for the floor joists?

I'm about to start a triple wide and a little deeper version similar to yours very soon. I'll use the concrete deck footings too.

I see that should hold about 2.5 cords. I'm going for 5 cords per bay.
