For some unknown reason I had an urge to differ from my typical Sunday schedule which includes coffee and more coffee while chilling until its time to go to church. So this urge was to go out in the backyard and send my drone up so I did but am glad I did as I witnessed an amazing moment as a beautiful Hawk that I had not seen decided to check out what was in its territory. So having witnessed this from the ground i brought it back down and pulled the micro SD hoping it was captured and sure enough it was captured, eventually I will slow mo the brief video but pulled some stills from it. He flew very close on the first pass which set off the sensors then came around for a second pass.
Happy Sunday and Memorial Day for everyone and a big thanks for all the Vets of this great nation THANK YOU !

If you guys are ever down in the Hudson Valley of NY, try stopping with the drones at the pull-off area of Rt. 6/202, otherwise known as the "goat trail", between Peekskill and the Bear Mtn. bridge.....LOTS of hawks and Bald Eagles....the eagles made a major comeback there, and nest on Iona Island, Bear Mtn, and across the Hudson River. Both do a lot of soaring off the steep slopes of the east side due to westerly winds making great updrafts just where the parking pull-off is located.
Iona Island has a very interesting story itself, and is an active wildlife sanctuary: Iona Island (New York) - Wikipedia

Took a ride with several HOG members to see the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, which is here until tomorrow.

    Memory plaque for NH soldiers.jpg

Just a small portion of the wall
    part of wall.jpg

They were very thoughtful and parked the bikes in an area away from cars and the major foot traffic

Testing on the new controller for the Prodigy 2 is coming to a close.

    Unit is working fabulous..
I am waiting for the proper volt meter for the panel before going ahead on mounting and wiring it into the stove.

Got busy today and built the new multi terminal block assembly and mounted it in the stove.

Used a hole saw and cut the hole for the through panel fitting too in the bottom plate of the stove.

Grabbed the Brother label maker and numbered the terminal block so wiring and making it easy for the next soul that might eventually need to mess with this beast:yes:

I am going to leave the factory controller in the stove along with the factory wiring.
The only real issue the factory control has is the main switch is about shot (Feels like 50 miles of death valley fire trail) It could be used in a pinch, and I might see if a fresh switch can be procured.... Very easy to reconnect a few wires to the original terminal board and be good to fly....

This week some fellow bee keepers a mile from me found their hives obliterated. Supers scattered about the woods, bees and honey consumed and also bear scat found about. About twenty hives are now firewood. We repeatedly encountered bears on our trip out west, mostly in Glacier NP and Sequoia NP. Now they’ve moved in to our neighborhood. I did enjoy a nice bear meatloaf from bear taken a mile down the other direction from us. Since we’re in the middle I guess we need to be more aware.

Orioles don't eat much bird seed unless it is well encased in fruit pulp. They just love concord grape jelly however. This is a jelly feeder and I have a jar of concord grape jelly and an open hanger on the feeder pole.

Our Oriels at my previous home would pop off the red plastic flowers on the hummer feeders. Had trouble with bees dying in the orange oriel feeders though. I sure do miss them. And the evening grosbeaks. And hummers. An meadowlarks, Golden Eagles, red tail hawsk, downy woodpeckers, occasional tanager and bald eagle. And more.
