Made a deal with a buddy of mine and traded my old wood hauler for this guy here. He bought this for the plow that was on it and planned on scraping the truck. V6 manual 4x4 Front caliper piston is stuck Probably why the clutch slips so much Fix rusted out tailgate hinge Weld the front bumper back together.
Got the hinge done. Make sure it’s gona work right and I’ll weld it up the rest of the way. Clean the welds up and away we go.
New break lines and hose to the rear are done and bled. New shoes too. Front caliper is freed up but won’t return Wanted to get a load of wood with it today but I thought being able to stop might be kind of important.
Just get yourself a righteous load of wood.... and let gravity work it's magic. ….you know gravity.... it's not just for fun.... it's the law.
That makes you sound old or is it wise?? Memories of youth... the brakes are bad.. Ahh no worries its a standard and e brake works
justdraftn That’s one sweet load of wood CB For 36 I feel old some days. Mostly just wise a$$ though I think I’ve got the caliper working right Now time to mess with the clutch
That'll work for a wood hauler, well, once you get the brakes sorted. Is it perhaps time fur a rebuilt caliper? How does that 4.3 run, does it use oil? IME those 4.3's will run a long time/ miles as long as they burn a little oil. I know of far too many that didn't make it to 100k, that didn't use any oil. The ones that did burn a little oil lasted a long time, one 400k before the body rotted away. I'm guessing it does burn a little a it probably wouldn't be running now after 20 or so years.
Horkn I’m sure it burns some but havnt ran it enough to know yet. Otherwise she runs great. Lil loud though, the driver side flange is gone off the Y pipe. If I weren’t so darn crafty this thing would cost a buttload of cash to get going.
Is the rubber brake line bad? That will make them not return sometimes...got one that needs replaced right now myself.
