For what its worth...my SCF 050 has a build date of 2008 and I bought it new in 2014. It was from a reputable dealer but had sat in his warehouse for years because he concentrated on wood burning instead. I also recall Mike mentioning that the PAF was a slow seller, hence being discontinued. Now...the rain issue is absolutely a deal killer.
You could be on the right about the build date. He said he purchased to heat his shop and he bought the shop in 09 thats why he remembered the year so well. It was bought from the local farm supply store. It could have sat there for 8 years.
Right. You'd think he would have spent a few minutes cleaning it and protect it from the elements to extract the most value out of it.
And sitting out in the Rain , he may have to pay somebody to haul it away You should have asked him to plug it in cause you wanted to see how those electric motors work in the rain
I did mention that I was hoping to plug it in, but that wouldn't be a wise thing to do now thats its been sitting in the rain. Also when he asked what concerned me and I told him that fact that it was sitting in the rain as I was digging wet sawdust out of the hopper, his response was "that can all be vacuumed out once it dries."
The ad is still posted... How long do I wait till I ask him how much he will pay me to come get it????
