Nice looking work Mrs T.Jeff Veal ! Your a lucky man sir! Is that green fresh split? Will the wood stay there until ready to burn or will it be moved to a second location when burning season starts? I love the pallets sheds. I have to build a lean to shed for a friend this Summer and i like your design. Simple and effective.

Thank you sir, I'll tell her. I'm beyond blessed to have her. The oak and hickory were cut in February this year, it will stay in this shed. We have several other sheds that hold 1 cord or a bit over. This shed holds 5 cords.

These are some of the 1 cord racks, gets good air flow. IMG_20171128_094426869.jpg

Well, had a few hours this morning before resting for work tonight, so the A-team worked it out this morning. Got a good bit done.
This is the hoard we are processing now, oak and hickory mostly. We finished up the smaller pile in the foreground, then moved the big logs to the right to processing area.

Took about 2 minutes to cut 7 rounds with our huskihl tricked X029.

    The carnage...

How do you like the modified saw? Does it make a big difference? I have my circa 2010 MS290 which ive considered modifying or getting a 261

Thanks for the compliments. My hunny is a hard worker...
I absolutely love the modded saw, it will out cut my stock 362 now, I would check with huskihl and see what he thinks can be done.

So T.Jeff Veal , what is your secret to get those logs on your trailer? Did you have a tractor or something?

Had a little time and cooler 70's this morning, so we went to the renewable energy epic honey hole processing area...lol...got out some hickory to mix in with the oak. My hunny finished up the halves and quarters of oak while I was getting set up for hickory. Bucked up a skid full of short logs. IMG_20190523_193517.jpg

I have a Kubota L2520. She's old, but runs good. Unfortunately the hydraulics are not real strong, so loading logs that big may be a problem for the old girl.

The hydraulics aren't super strong on ours either, especially with the forks on. Several times I've had to pick up one end, sit it on the trailer, pick up the other end and push it on. Or find something to set it on, curl out and boom up at the same time to get height. If that fails, I cut them shorter.
These were only 6' long 20150129_105644.jpg
    FB_IMG_1454069043355.jpg
It would only handle 20" long rounds from this tree, average weight was 950# each. FB_IMG_1549200590540.jpg FB_IMG_1549200659192.jpg FB_IMG_1549203245638.jpg I just don't let it defeat me. My dad taught me that years ago. Said he killed ol' man Can't....

Well I'll have to give it a try. I have a 4' wide bucket on it and it will just pickup (slowly) a full bucked of road base. I do have a couple of hooks welded on the bucket. so maybe Ill get some tongs and give it a try. Thanks for the info.

You're welcome. Ours probably won't pick up a full bucket of gravel, 66" bucket...
