We're to get a lot of rain this weekend. Not conducive to get work done outside. I can however draw up my woodshed plans and start buying some materials so I can finally get going on that.

    Nice tractor Chvymn99.

My wife grabbed a few pics of the local turkeys. A few toms were strutting in the driveway and walked up to the house. They have little fear around here.

I think most of the flock has paired up and nested. It will be interesting to see how they are with young ones in tow.

I’d like to see them pull that stunt about Nov. 20th...

Expect them to walk right past you with no fear. They are too stupid for that.

I've had them walk within an arms reach from me while sitting there with a rifle in my hands.

Not a bad day around home. Our daughter and grand daughter (6 weeks) are coming over later so I put of pork roast in the slow cooker and cut a pound of asparagus for dinner. We are stuck here at 46f with a stiff NE wind. The local pair of mallards are in the yard. They are happy with the weather. Not too sure about the songbirds and robins. There are active robin and cardinal nests right out the door in a few of our spruce trees, and the mommas have been busy hauling in materials. Maybe we will go right to summer after Memorial Day which seems to happen a lot of years

I re-spooled a few reels and dug around for some panfish jigs so I am ready to hit the lake when we get a Saturday morning above 50f. Also did some weeding and picked some more garden worms for fishing in between rain showers, but still feeling a little antsy, so I may have to temper that with a nap and some red wine. Oh, I can't forget vacuuming. My wife told me the entire house needs vacuuming before she left to go to her classroom to work on lesson plans. I would say that is a pretty strong hint:whistle:

Good day to hang out at the FWH :yes:too. I have no social media and don't participate in any other forums (haven't found one that is anywhere near as civil). Most television programming is not tolerable. I follow a few YouTube channels on rural/remote lifestyles, gardening and homesteading which are pretty interesting and informative. We did start the series called Chernobyl on HBO which seems pretty good so far, so my wife and I will probably watch episode 2 tonight.

I got a lot of the pile of ash at the neighbor's cut and hauled to my piles.
    I'm bushed.

I cut about half of the pile. Here's before, and then after. You tell me how I did.

Yeah I think I got half of it done.

Here's the pile at my place after a short ride on the trailer behind the ATV. Screenshot_2019-05-18-20-35-05.png

There's some new silver maple "sticks" and rounds on the left by the trailer tailgate that were not part of this ash score.

Wife put the little one to bed, left the big one in charge, and we went out on the boat for a 90 minute booze cruise. Got out there right at sunset, then navigated my third docking so far in the pitch dark with a few beers in me. No sweat!

40's, high humidity/rain/sprinkles/cloud cover. I do not know how you all do the humidity. It feels 20* colder to me with high humidity. Hang in there Brendy.
