So I’m waiting on my new Wolfe ridge compact commercial 28c on order and being delivered Monday, I have some huge bucked up knotty black walnut and hickory, some rounds 36 inches in diameter, I plan on putting this machine to the rest as I am starting a little firewood side gig, a full review with photos will cbe coming very soon! Very excited!!!!
Sorry folks, been biting at the bit to really get some rounds through this machine but between the never ending rain here in NJ and Bering swamped at the shop, I haven’t had a chance to really get st it, it’s killing me! Tomorrow is the day, supposed to be nice, 74 and partly sunny, I do have a large pile of rounds ready to go.... stay posted......
Ok, so after twisting wrenches for 11 hours, I came home to my virgin splitter, it’s not raining and I have unlimited rounds cut up, I need to give this beast a go.... I rolled over about a dozen 18 to 24 inch rounds, set the choke and that Honda came to life with one pull, I went from turtle to rabbit and loaded the log lift. I had the 4 way on and I have to say that in less than ten minutes with an unfamiliar machine I had a pretty good amount of wood, this things a beast and the quality is very good, built like a tank and just very easy to use with the valves in good locations, more to come tomorrow..,,, so far I’m in love.... thanks Chris from WR

Good morning! I bought a Wolfe Ridge 28 Pro a little over a year ago. It's an awesome splitter IMO. It's a little slow but make up for the speed by the fact you can take one piece of wood and make 4-6 splits with one pass. I bought a 6 way splitting wedge and it's great for 14" or bigger rounds and with the optional wedge holder I bought at Paul Bunyan last year it's always handy as it's mounted on the splitter. And the Honda engine is a fuel sipper. A tank of fuel will last , most of the time at my age, longer than you want to split! And let's not forget the log lift! I the past, I'd load the rounds in the bucket of my tractor and have it lifted so wouldn't have to pick the rounds up off the ground. With the log lift those days are long gone as it will lift anything I want to put on it. And when your splitting a lot of rounds, I pack the lift with several rounds so I am continually supplied with rounds. Chris Wolfe and the entire team are defiantly customer driven as they are always courteous, and extremely helpful. The splitter motor is easy to service as the oil drain plug is easy to get to and the fill plug is right above it. I would, how ever, recommend getting a drain hose to keep the used oil from getting on the splitter. Would I buy another one, defiantly! I might even buy the 35 SHO with a box wedge. These are great splitters for not only homeowners, but people that do several cords to sell a year! Hat's off to Faith Farm Equipment in Salisbury NC for a great buying experience. We got a deal on a practically new (9.5 hrs) 28HO in Sept '22. Came with 4&6 way wedges, electric start and auto-cycle valve. He wanted less than his invoice price and he threw in a new 16' Iron Rhino conveyor. The splitter has over 350 hrs on it now. Finally getting the main cylinder seals replaced. Wonderful machine, only found a couple pieces it wouldn't split the 1st time with single wedge, just repositioned the rounds and got it done. We added a stand for a big umbrella Splitting white oak here...
Got Blue Samson back yesterday, seals done, got the hydraulic oil topped off, new set of slides installed and engine oil changed. It has 498.2 hrs on it. Also pressure washed it, looks new again.
