I have 2 commercial Toros. One is a 2008 52" with 1150 hours on it. The other is a 2017 60" with 225 hours on it. Both have Kawasaki engines.
No major repairs, one spindle and a PTO clutch on the older one (the hole for the wiring harness was molded into the clutch-that hole wore out, no way to replace-the new ones have a socket that can replaced if needed.)

Happy with both-I imagine the newer one would sell for 6k or so if you could find one.

If they didn't cost 14k, I'd have a Kubota diesel!!

Got the ExMark out yesterday to go mow my one big lawn takes 2 hours to do.
I was shocked when I looked at the hour meter and it was 2825 hours, and I thought it was close to 500 hours.

Both my across the road neighbours have Toro's. Both bought from Home Depot so they are not top of the line models. They produce a really nice cut, but they don't do well if you try to cut the ditch culvert. Whew that sure tears up some stuff in a deck.
He now has culvert markers and does that area with a string trimmer.

    :D Al

Well another mowing. One pit stop for repairs. Ran over a split that it chewed up. After that it started scalloping really bad on the highest blade setting. Maybe put it on the lowest setting and run it through the garden making a furrow for seed potatoes. :D:rofl:
Going to look at Bad Boys tomorrow. ZT Elite ZT Elite with a Kaw engine. I will visit the Gravely dealer also since it is very close to the Bad Boys dealer. The Bad Boys dealer also sells Echo. Maybe have to try one of them or see if he will give me a deal with a lawn mower purchase. Doesn't harm to ask.
I am considering a Toro since my Stihl dealer sells them and I like his service. I am concerned about the Toro designed engine.
I will have a new one or on its way by next mowing.
Can't justify or afford the Ex-Mark.

Exmark Laser Z with Kubota diesel. 12 years old. It was the first year for the Kubota engine. It has been rather reliable. Well built. Just over 1000 hours. I wanted the Kubota zero turn but a friend talked me out of it. He said if you lose a hydrostat it costs $3500. Lose a pump on the Exmark it’s $500. Good math but I really do like the Kubota. I have several friends with them and they have had good luck with them also.

Pretty sure Toro and Exmark are the same or similar!

I have a Snapper Pro 50 for 5 years now with no problem. Had a Hustler but the X keep it in the big D. No problem with it as far as I know she is still using it. Service is the key to longevity in my opinion.

    Struck out today.
Went to the Bad Boy dealer today. Barricade across their parking lot entrance. "Closed. No Trespassing. Violators will be Prosecuted." OK I guess I don't look at those. Decided that I would go to the Gravely dealer about 1o miles away while I was in the area. After 4 trips up and down the road, I couldn't find them.
Tomorrow I will go to my Stihl dealer. He sells Ex Mark Toro and Simplicity. Maybe a trip to the Ariens dealer.

Ariens and Gravely are sister companies, machines are identical just different colors.

Anybody have experience with Toro HD with the my-ride. I’m looking into one of those or the ZTHD Gravely and the Country Clipper XLT, all have -3100 series hydros, Kaw or Kohler engine options, fab decks. Priced within $100- 200 of each other. I like the joystick and front folding deck on the Clipper. The my-ride seat set up is really nice on the Toro and it’s got heavier spindles and deck than the other 2.

TSC carries Bad Boy, 60 inch cut, commercial hydros, I think still $4995. IMO best bang for the buck I have one for 11 years now runs and cuts fine. The "new" ones are much nicer too.

Yeah if they still use the Hydro Gear ZT-3100 drives, those are pretty decent transmissions...seems like a lot of mower for the money...

I bought a Toro commercial 48" with 19hp Kawasaki in 2007. I mow about 6 steep acres of rocks and ravines. 368 hours on it. No problems or complains.
I recently when to Toro Fusion (Gator style) mulching blades. Wow, they do Everything better than the high lifts I'd always used, including the finish cut which had always been excellent.

I'd be real tempted to go look at this one Marshel54 ...seems like a good deal!
Toro Z Master 52" Zero Turn with 238 hours
And while you are in Sunbury...Edwards Parts and Service always seems to have some Z turn deals advertised...I think it was them that had excellent prices advertised on new Dixon mowers a few years back...I thought about going that route before I found my Hustler Mini Z 52"...it was a little older unit (2006) but was homeowner owned/used and only had 375 hours on it...the older Mini Z's were a very heavy duty built commercial unit...at sub 500 hours now, its still not hurt one bit...I plan on running it for many years to come!
