I also remember that happening with me. I was already starting to take care of the stove and what are they talking about? Coming down a chimney? How would they fit both body and bag of goodies in that small space. Then there was the flue damper; how to get past that, into a hot stove then open the firebox door from the inside. Yes, I was a strange kid; maybe a bit old for my age or something like that.

Ok, for the next argument......why do we perpetuate this stuff in the first place?

Positive reinforcement for children's good behavior.

It goes out the window on December 26th.

I can't tell you all how beautiful it is today with the green-up and flowering crabs opening, along with some lilac flowers starting on a few bushes in sunny places. But folks here know and are experiencing the same thing, or will be soon. We are looking at rain and cooler temps starting Saturday through much of next week. Hopefully things clear back out for Memorial Day weekend.

Boys yes, girls are trained in fairy tales, Cinderella, beauty & beast etc etc.

Depends on story of Santa, a jolly elf that flies around world in single nite, in a tiny sleigh pulled by miniature reindeer. OR
Saint Nicholas a loving married man who couldn't have children that made hand made wooden toys for disadvantaged children in a depression era type times..:sherlock:

Yeah my parents never led us to believe in tooth fairy, santa claus, easter bunny, any of that...they never flat out said its not real, just didn't perpetuate any of it...and I'm like Dennis...I wasn't too old before I figured out these things don't make sense anyways.

Fired (parody of ring of fire)

    "Punctuality's an important thing,
But it's something that I just don't bring.
I leave a lot to be desired,
And once again I just got fired.

Did I tell you I work hard, well I guess I am a liar,
Stayed out late on my lunch break and I came back even higher,
    Wallet burns, burns, burns,
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.
Fell asleep during a phone call,
Couldn't help it, I was tired,
Started showing up late 3 days after I was hired,
    Wallet burns, burns, burns,
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.

    My resume is incomplete.
Still don't sound like someone they'd want to meet.
24 and dependent as a child.
And it's driving both my parents wild.

Just couldn't hold together till my probation expired,
I got called up to the office, smelled like weed and I was wired,
    Wallet burns, burns, burns,
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.
Couldn't do what a minimum wage job required,
I guess my work ethic leaves a lot to be desired.
    Wallet burns, burns, burns,
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.
I'm not sure I just helped my case of ever getting hired,
And mommy needs to cut me off to afford to retire,
    Wallet burns, burns, burns,
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.

    Wallet burns, burns, burns,
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.
    I just got fired.

That's a great price, but I don't think I can get used to wearing such skimpy longies...where's the top part? Are these the thongs Eric VW used to talk about? Here's a pic of mine!

That's a lot of buttons to undo in a hurry if you had a bad meal the night before.
