The appraiser was out today. He said it was repairable. My jaw dropped. He wrote for a tire, rim and a balance.

He really should have called me and I could have told him about the fluid leaking from underneath. The exhaust pipe separated behind the cat too. I sent him pictures from the scene with fluid all over the ground. He did not write for the scratches down the side either. All this was explained when the claim was reported. I shake my head at the poor contact from a major Boston area insurance carrier. I'll authorize the repairs and then when it is on the lift he can get a better look. It will have to go for bodywork after the mechanic. It is turning into this::picard:

I did buy a lawn tractor today, I'll see it next week.

The game cam was empty at the dug hole. It is set up tonight at the game trail with deer prints.

I worked on more emptying boxes and setting up one of the rooms. I have to hang my forged trade knife and hatchet on the empty wall after I repair the wall a little bit. It is an old house that was not updated but has a lot of original woodwork. I'd love a reproduction musket on the wall to the right of the cabinet.

It is a delta and the rebuild kit is what was attempted. This is perhaps the umpteenth time for the rebuild. The water here (municipal) is very mineral laden. Fixtures have to be CLR'ed or Lime Away'ed twice a year.

The shower faucet has not been rebuilt for around 5 yrs or more? just started dip drip driping all the time once again. OK, enough of the background.

While trying to free the retaining ring nut that holds the "control flow ball" in place, the hot and cod water lines to control valve and "common" flow line to shower head twisted/bent/deformed BEFORE the ring nut was loosened. It almost happened last time I rebuilt it; I do remember that. Well this time, they mustve bent enough to create a drip.

To access the control shower valve, you would have to cut the fiberglass molded shower stall.....who wants to do that, right? Then you'd have too large of a hole in your shower that no trim ring will cover. So, the other side of the shower valve is a drywalled hallway. The option to cut out a piece of drywall to provide enough room to the valve (I'm sure it'll have to be replaced) is an easy decision to make. Its just a miserable job for me and drywall!

Camped out in the Mojave desert a couple of miles north of the freeway from Vegas to LA listening to the bugs chirping and waiting for a pizza to cook in the RV.

That is a seriously poor appraisal job. When someone struck my old Explorer, I was surprised that the appraiser accounted for very minor scratching - heck I didn't even see the scratches and had to really look for them when I saw the report. Hope it all comes out right in the end.

On another note, looks like you are making progress in getting settled in

If you'd waited a few months, that pizza would'a cooked on a rock in a few minutes.

How's the trip going? Did you stop at Baker and take a "selfie" in front of the worlds largest thermometer? What's the next stop on the tour?

I'll stop in at the garage today and get things going.

Slowly settling in. The hard part is having to set up house as everything was so organized at the last place. We will get there.

That appraisal is pathetic. An independent mechanic and body shop (NOT the ones your insurance company steers you to) will haul that appraiser into the shop to write for the real damage.

I'll get it squared away. The shop where the truck is at is fine and I will authorize repairs. I'm sure they will have the appraiser out for a supplement.

I was an auto injury adjuster for a few years. I'll get 'em straight.

The cats are adjusting very well. There is a lot more space to run and hide here. there are more birds to watch out the window too. They seem happier. The move stressed them out with all the furniture and familiar items moved out.

Well, it’s Wednesday...boss and a couple coworkers will be leaving at noon to go visit a customer in Greenville, SC... MasterMech ’s home turf, I believe.
Another coworker has the “sinus infection” and claims “it’s not contagious...” I say BS. How else can you catch this crap w/out some factor of contagiousness being present? But I digress.

Here’s to Hump day my fellow working Hawdahs :salute:... and the 4th Saturday of the week for retarred folks.:D

Well enough to do things but we both tire easily. We are taking the RV down island today to meet the English cousins. They will be using it for the next week or so. We have had such nice sunny dry weather that everyone was wising for rain and we got some now. I just hope it doesn't rain too hard for their holiday.
