It's a ton of work you already did this year! :)

Looks like a little of everything. Makes me want to get back out and cut some more.

But, you have a helper too.

Thanks I have a 1 acre lot in the village plenty of room to build what I want just wish I had more money. Took the wife and kids out there today and got my wood shavings and bark all raked up. The pile is 2loads of twisted knotty oak I got from a tree trunk the DNR cut down I just had too buck it up and load it split what I could by hand most of it I will need to be renting a splitter for a day to take care of.

I suggest you get a moisture meter , to see where your at with how dry your wood is.
Harbor Freight meter is fine, 12 bucks, or General Tools LCD Moisture Meter, at Lowe's 30 bucks
you want your wood at 20% or lower , in a pinch I have burned 25%.
To check for moisture content you must slit a piece , check it right then and there smack in the middle.
If you just check the outside you wont get an accurate reading , it might be 15% on the outside and 35% on the inside.
With a moisture meter , at least you will know what to expect when you try to light the wood on fire :)
Great job getting those stacks built

Either you are a short man, or you split big and stack high! ;) Seriously, good work. Looks like maybe something other than Oak mixed in, on either side of your son?

Nice looking stacks. You got some direct sunlight, an unobstructed stack for a breeze and it's on pallets so it will breath well. How much do you think you have there? and what species have you got? any oak in those stacks??

A lot of cross cross stacking to prevent tip over the stack runs north and south so it should catch the west breez good. I have some oak in the stack and the pile beside it is pretty much all oak. I figure I have a +or- 5 cords right now. I want to get double that by winter.
