Chaz and brother Pat started on the staging area for the pipeline today. It is a swampy mess down at the bottom o f the hill where they were working. The first pile i worked on loading in the cart mainly smalls. Then went up for a second load after my brother left. Pics are staging area, pic looking up the pipeline to try and give you an idea of how steep it is and last the wood we brought over, with the kubota in background.

Not as fun after a couple of hours


BIL cleared a lot of small brush around many trees, and helped with limbing as well.

Only dropped one today, had to go to Buffalo VA and got home around 12:30 or so.

One half got hung up, first half dropped fairly smoothly. Coulda done better on my back cut, that was at an angle.

Thank you Jeff. We are just getting a little bit ahead of the game. The gas line company will be coming through sometime between 2020 and 2022.

When they do, if you look at the pipeline pic, they will be coming in 50' in on the right hand side. Everything will go. They will take the trees down, also brush. Brush will get chipped and spread. We will have 3 staging areas for the logs. Once they got new line in, they will grade in and plant deer foliage.

They have already paid us for the land and trees and we get to keep the trees. All good in our book.

Nice beginning! That way you have some wood drying now. And you can harvest some of the saplings that would get chipped. Although when it's all over, you'll have more wood than you know what to do with!

well a regulator would obviously be needed. It really isn't much different than ppl who have wells on their land and get free gas. I don't know if wells get close to that pressure.
It's still a good deal with or without the gas.
