Back in Florida. Think I bought a place for my crippled azz to retire. No crappie genocide this week, just real estate.

Beetle-Kill ... if it makes you feel any better I can relate. Within a few months of my now wife moving in. My paternal grandmother died, and my fathers share of that home came here. My future mother-in-law sold her condo and moved to Canada so her stuff came here. Then my father decided to downsize and sell the family home. 95% of that came here. And of course my wife and her home stuff came here..

All of this over 11 years ago and we are still triaging stuff and cleaning it out piece by piece:loco: ..

Feel free to vent man, just understand as they get older, they're urgency and time frames become less important then their memories.

I made it until quitting time. what helped is that the Principal had an interesting project for us to work on and time just flew. We are at the timetabling for next year stage of the year. this time of year is worked in levels. finishing off and graduating Grade 12, getting to the end of this school year for the rest of the students and meanwhile, timetabling and setting up for next year. A lot going on and not really a time to be sick for a week.

I understand about sugar and vinegar, but this move has been in the making since last August. He's had plenty of time.
example- the shed. In that shed, there were 3 full shelves of window trim and moulding. These came out of the old farm house before it was demo'd. Been sitting in that shed for over a decade.
He wanted to bring it with him, to do something with, eventually. No. I told him to keep a few items but the rest had to go. It went, he grumbled, but the next day agreed he probably would never use it. There is a lot of that going on right now.

Things are odd with my father, he sounds just like your fathers, except he has a wife. He's making some arrangements, she is not in that mode. Tough to determine boundries, frankly she has made it clear my input/help is not welcome. Idk, (shrug shoulders), not willing to cause a rift.

Brandon Scott , you bought a home down there? How exciting, tell us more!!!!

Talked to my mother and her husband today about using the 5th wheel. They are excited and I am too to offer some help! BUT, I'm worried about them finding an RV park month to month, they book up quickly in Colorado and many of them will not rent more than 3 nights at a time during the summer. Heck, up here all the spots during Cheyenne Frontier Days both here and NoColo are booked years on end. We'll see if they can work it out, they are looking at an RV park near Ft Collins (Chazsbetterhalf ) tomorrow. Cross your fingers for them please :)

Dagnamit, another school shooting here. It's on all channels. TV will be turned off when kiddo gets home. Flipping children evacuating the school, breaks my heart.

Haven’t signed the papers yet. I might in the morning. The whole thing is a bit depressing. Got my place the way I wanted, paid off, and I’m too crippled with arthritis to take care of it. My bones feel soooooooooooo much better in this climate. I’ll tell more later but I will post some pics. 1100 sq ft prefab house in a retirement community. Prefab is Ky speak for trailer. Nice community with everything imaginable. No crime and gated.

Wow Brandon Scott , what a great place  , and if your arthritis is not as hard there, I'D GO FOR IT :) Incidently I have an older distant cousin with the same flavor of affliction as I do, and she moved to FL too  .

    Any golfers here?
I grabbed a couple of golf club sets from Dad (he's never golfed, he just had them), so I'd like to off-load them for him. Where would I go to find out if they're worth anything?
Calloway Big Bertha's and irons and putters. I don't golf either so have no clue. And golf bags, "Carmel Classic" and "Laguna Seca Golf Club" stuff.
I'm in no rush, it's here and off his radar so I'm good.

I am close friends with the front renter he is a volunteer firefighter, village maintenance worker and helps everyone stand up guy all the way... The back renter is a bitter older man who is the issue.

I said I don’t want any part of the renter drama just keep your dog out of my yard! The old man said he is a service dog and can go where he wants. So I said ( bluntly ) is he a registered service dog? Has he been trained? Can you show me paperwork? You could hear crickets.... He then said if people approach him fast the dog will attack and that’s where I lost my cool and told him I see that dog in my property all bets are off. He backed down fast at that.

I came home because my wife felt threatened enough by that ( very mean ) dog to stay in the house.

Now his (social worker) wants me to have a sit down with him to settle things. I told here where to stick it this isn’t high school I own my property and if he can’t abide by the law or threatens my household then we have a problem! Theres nothing to work out here... Stay off my property or you’ll have a dead dog. I don’t play games....

I told her the older man trained that dog to attack plain and simple. When it sees somebody it’s fangs show, tail goes down and it arches for attack...

She kept pushing so I said simply now your trespassing get off my property. You should have seen the look on her face!

Pallet Pete , good job, no need to bend over for a jerk neighbor or a bleeding-heart social worker.

So,.... are you still gonna get him something for Christmas?

BTW- how's the new job working out?
