Dropped this maple today. Wood isn't for me, this is one I am getting paid to drop and cut up. Had me nervous though because it was rotten in the middle and leaning hard towards a shed. But it landed good and didn't have any issues. First time using the 32" bar, and used very bit of it.
The first pic was a little deceiving to me, didn't look as big as I thought. The pic with the saw on the stump was impressive. Quite a rotted center too. Any crawling critters come out to say hi?
Nothing came out but that was crossing my mind when I felt that rotten spot in the middle. I will be bucking it up but have not done so yet. This is the same place that I trimmed those trees earlier in the week and I went and cleaned up the rest of the brush from that first. And I didnt get tto start until about 4:30 so I ran out of time. But I feel much better having that one on the ground.
The rot wasnt but the rocks I found in there was hard on two chains, look in the chainsaw forum " How to ruin a brand new chain"
