Welcome Crash, pull up a block and join the fire. Lots of great people here who are more than willing to share the information
Welcome to the forum Crash. Everyone has to learn including us old farts. Learning is one thing that should definitely never stop. However, as for the MM, I have never owned one nor never even seen a need for one. But there are some who really like them and some use them just as a toy. If you get on the 3 year plan (you'll be reading lots about this over time), you will always know your wood is prime for burning so long as it has been handled right. In a nutshell, cut the wood to firewood length, get it split, stack it off the ground and top cover it then let Mother Nature do her thing and the wood will dry. It is best to stack the wood where it will get wind and sometimes lots of sun will help but we've never had any problems stacking wood in the shade. I would not stack in wet spot though as that will definitely hinder the drying. Here is some reading material for you. You can read it online or download it: Primer on Woodburning by Backwoods Savage
Crash, if you decide to also get a spliter, start looking for a plastic milk crate to go with it. Backwood Savage will give you guidance how to use it...........
Welcome aboard crash. We like beer , dogs and lots and lots of pics. They have a saying--no pic then it didn't happen.
One of the least pricey options for Class A pipe is through Menards. Thought I'd start the answer process before you even get a chance to ask any questions.
Welcome to the club. Lots of great folks on here. Lots of knowledge and humor. I think you will like it here. Here is another great company for all your chimney and piping needs. Wood Stove Pipe, Chimney Kits, Chimney Pipe | Discount Chimney Supply, Inc. Check them out also. They sell and install pipe systems. When I ran into a problem, they solved it over the phone, told me exactly what pipe and fittings I needed to complete the install.
Welcome crash55 Don't be afraid to ask. You will find, there are many here that can and will help you.
