Why do I plant seed, then decide to start digging?

Some of you have seen the atrocity of a hill in front of the house. It's thorny, saplings, boulders, thistles everywhere. I've been cutting new growth from old stumps for 2 years now and enough is enough. Mud season in New Hampshire, is brown and ugly. I decided to start working my way uphill carefully removing all this mess! Did a 20x15 ft section in about 2 hours, dropped a pretty large pine that was topped from wind over the winter and bucked that up. My goal is it's grade it as best as I can and drop seed down. It will look nicer & be easier to move. No pics, time is short after work with still somewhat short days. Finished with the crappy headlights!

I planned on ordering a 5 scarifyer box blade from everything attachments, but they are out 8 weeks. Eventually I'll grade this entire property.

Went to Kubota dealer today and ordered my new L2501 HST with 66" qa bucket, and wheel spacers. They said it could be ready by the end of the week or the first part of next week, I can't wait:dancer: :tractor:.

Here’s one I’m eyeing, and it is closer to you than the Rutland one. ABSOLUTE AUCTION

I seriously have had my eye on the M5140, but am not able to make it there this weekend.

Had a slow leak that I didn't notice. Tire came off the rim as I was snow blowing the driveway. The blower actually stopped roll over off culvert. Good 7 foot drop.. just my constant reminder, to thank the lord for keeping an eye out for me and pay attention!!

That is a good one. I can't either- wish I could, gotta work, then heading to the catskills. I'd go after the woods backhoe, the chipper, York rake, and grapple depending on sizing. :headbang:

Just be careful, a 3 point mounted backhoe is no bueno. You need a frame mounted backhoe. A 3 point mounted backhoe can break a tractor in half.

Agree, there is a good reason all the engineers of compact tractors add a subframe for a backhoe. If you have used one of these compacts with a BH it is amazing how much force can be transmitted back into the tractor, move the tractor around like its a toy.

Well, I pulled the trigger on a 3pt post hole digger. I picked up the 12" augers today, but the main part is on a rain check. Hopefully in the next couple weeks. I'm planning on putting up a 3 sided pole barn, this will make things easier, so long as there aren't a bunch of boulders to contend with.

Good luck! I live on a glacial rock farm also and I always figured a post hole digger would be useless, so I’m very interested to see how you do. You might want to stock up on shear bolts.
