    The bark does look like Black Locust, but the leaves are not even close. I've never seen those leaves before.

    It's not persimmon, definitely. We have plenty of those.
    The bark is furrowed like hickory, but different some and the leaves don't look like the other hickories around the area.

    I think honey locust has thorns, I'm not familiar with any of the locust varieties.
