It's not the size of the dog in the fight....
it's the size of the fight in the dog.

I'll just take a wild guess....
    he inspects everything you do....

Well, believe it or not, i just told him to ''stay'' And, he's never been ''formally trained'', meaning as far as obedience goes, he's pretty much done it on his own. I found out a long time ago, this particular breed of dog have some unique traits. Our first one, was a real "beaut'', meaning a huge amount of color, basic black, then a orange, reddish, and even blond colors. Chester was THE very best dog i've ever had. Sherman is trying hard to fill some really big paws, lol. He has a lot of the same trait's of Chester but, is not related in the breeding line in any way that i know of. He has afforded my wife and i a huge amount of fun. This includes our daughters and grand kids and our great grand kids. He's still a young dog, and he's the ''boss'' of our property, he's not shy about letting people know he's the boss. Last week, i had a partial bottle of tea, so i thought i'd ''test'' him. It was about 1/5 th full, so he was on my lap, i took the partial bottle of tea and sat it on his head, just to see what he would do. He just sat there!! with the bottle balanced on his head!! I was shocked to see him letting me do this to him. I'll try it again soon and see if i can get a picture of it.

He is muscled up like you would not believe, his hind quarters are like mini frozen hams!! He's built like a bull and full of energy, he's cautious, of kids and don't let just anyone touch him, except on his terms. I'm convinced by what i have seen that 2 people were trying to coax him into their car 2 different times. Early in the morning when he and i normally go outside. But, i was there both times, they saw me, and took off immediately. I never let him outside in front except when i am with him, plus i keep a very close eye on him at all times and under my control. He's one fun dog to have around, and is no trouble at all. If i could find a big female, built more like him, i'd see about breeding. But, for now, he's on the bench, sort of speak. lol. I have a feeling he'll catch up to HIS dad some day in body weight, but, i'd like to see him around 22-24 lbs. Its amazing to watch people who see him for the first time, he's a pretty impressive looking pup. yup, we like him.

ha,ha, very TRUE! he's just a little over 20lbs at this time. With his length and height, he could easily reach 25 lbs if i wanted him too, but, i'd rather see it in muscle instead of just weight.

Sorry to say, no i did not, one guy in a silver BMW 4dr stopped, rolled down his window, was talking to the dog, then opened his door, continued to talk to Sherman, i was on the porch in the shadows, the guy must have spotted me, he said some thing like, ''oh, that's yours'' shut his door and took off fast. The second person, was in a dark pickup, he made the turn on the corner same thing, stopped, started talking to the dog, was parked very close to the curb, spotted me and took off again. I've never seen either one of the vehicles since then. One thing, he's pretty shy of people, and will run if they move toward him, and i'm around him 99% of the time, or he's out in the back yard with me. thanks to all for the compliments.

Is he named Sherman because he's built like a little tank? :)

    Great looking pup!

No, not actually, but, i did name the other one we had for 11.6 yrs Chester, after Marine Gen Chesty Puller, with, i will add, the blessing of Chesty's daughter, Virginia Puller Dabney. She was my company commanders wife when i was in viet nam with India Company 3rd batt 26th Marines. I met her, in 2006, and asked her permission to name our first one after her dad Chesty Puller because of his build. Big chest, bigger bark, and with a real attitude for his size. She got quite a kick out of me asking her first. She said, "yes, i think daddy would have gotten a real kick out of that''.

In all fairness, Sherman is built like a tank, he's put together really well.
