First scrounge of the year I notice on Facebook. I did one load today and 2 on Monday. Focusing mostly on the Hickory right now.

These are the couple loads from Monday, some Cherry mixed in.

I'm helping out a gal who had tornado damage last fall. Dozens of downed trees to cut up. So far I haven't seen anyone else there but me so far. But I'm sure that will change soon seeing its on FB. I plan to cut more next week.

No way did I grab all the Hickory. I notice at least 8 large downed Hickory trees and as many Cherry. Plus several large piles of Cherry and Hickory logs that she was going to try to sell but gave up. I haven't even touched them, working on the downed stuff first. I thinks the only way this supply will go fast is if a tree service comes in and snags up all the good wood to sell. Love the trailer, first time using it. I didn't fill it completely cuz I didn't want to overload it. (which I may have) That Hickory is so darn heavy.

If you want all the wood maybe ask her to take the add down.

Sweet haul! I agree with the above - if you want it all, maybe a little good faith deposit would get her to take down the post? I have offered the same on Craigslist posts and been refused on the cash, but the poster still took down the ad. Most people seem to be glad to have one reliable person take all the wood rather than have many different parties in their yard.

Around here, I get a lot where the other guy took all the smaller stuff, left a mess, and won't answer the phone.

I have one like that in the works now Rowerwet . Trees came down in May tornado last year, tree guys bucked them, he posts CL add, everyone else took small stuff. Logs left are 25-30", red oak. I quartered them and pulled one load when ground was frozen, waiting for ground to firm up for rest. It will be posted here when done.

Went after work and filled the trailer with some more cherry. Going to head back in the morning and work on the pile some more if its not raining to much.

Yes it is, and no its not all mine. Its is free to anyone who whats it. Oddly I've only notice one other hoarder in the week I've been cutting there. There is tons of Shag left I just didn't feel up to the extra work I would have to do to haul it to my trailer. That wood feels twice the weight of the Cherry. I had just finish a 12 hour shift so I was little beat already.

And has 2x BTUs. Certainly don't blame you after a 12-hour shift though.

74buc. Good thing you didn't have bear 1998 there helping you load that trailer. He likes to make sure you get your money's worth. :jaw: I know the hickory is heavy but that would be the first thing I wood snag. Here's my 10K trailer with about 12K of wood that bear loaded for me.:hair: 20190413_113916.jpg
