Is this far enuff north for you. 250 miles above the arctic circle looking north over the arctic ocean in prudhoe bay alaska so much for global warming. Firewood hoarders nightmare! No trees for atleast 200miles

This is from a family member in SD. Their lane keeps getting snowed in and it takes 2-3 days to dig it out each time. Long winter for them. They background cattle and still hand scoop snow from bunks. [IMG]

It was the first day of spring yesterday. Shovel the snow off the top of the patio lounger. Set up charcoal camp grill on the lounger to keep it up and out of the snow. Then you light the coals and grill some brats to celebrate the death of winter! 20190320_191405.jpg

Just got the numbers tallied up. I would say this has been a year with a noteworthy cold snap and a high end of average for snow fall. -38°F and 58.8 inches of snow. Ok spring, I'm ready to get the show on the road. 20190415_112050.png

My wife was out in ND 2 years ago to visit my relatives. (In the summertime). She said she would love to move there. I'll show her this later. My relatives live down in the SW part of the state near Watford city.

Maybe have her come visit near the end of January for a couple weeks. I work with a guy from PA, and he said he thought he knew what winter was....until he moved here. I will say though 8 months of the year we have some of the best weather in the nation.

Looking ahead in the 10 day forecast, I think winter is over until fall 2019.

Duluth MN received 2.5" over the weekend for a May 2019 total of of 13.3". Supposedly the snowiest May on record.

I worked on on Ojibwa Reservation in Northern MN for about 1o years. This happened to occur during a string of particularly cold winters, including 1996 when MN set a record of -60f. One of the elder Indian ladies at the office the next morning quipped "What's the big deal? Don't they think it ever got cold around here before the white man started keeping records?"
