15 people 2.5 cords on truck and about 16 or so in shed 99% was cut to length and maybe 70% was split enough for owb. We will be burning scraps the rest of April I think
great looking work! Are they busy next weekend? I like the way the mound was put in the shed so the greenest wood is in the back. Always tricky trying to keep the piles/shed rotated. Greg will you continue to hoard wood to start a new mound?
I have a couple of buddies coming for maybe 2 more cord total, and I’ll be burning bark and uglies for a month maybe, but if I get a chance for some, I’ll start a new pile. But due to snow we had, I hope to get the mess cleaned up before piling a lot on it. I’m in central pa, and there was still 12 inches of ice at the center bottom of the pile.
Many hands make light work, another great post Greg . I really like the wheelbarrows lined up at the starting line, kinda like NASCAR for hoarders.
Very thankful to have all four sons home, and they brought a couple buddies. Always enjoy a big meal afterwards. Don’t know how long the tradition will continue, not something I take for granted.
I’m no Im not sure the official name, but around here we call them muck trucks. Basically a 4 wheel drive wheel barrow. Has 5 horse engine. It will haul up to 1200 pounds. Use it to take firewood out of inclined back yards etc. No real reason to use it yesterday but boys always bring it out for fun.
2 or so to helpers, rest here. And that would be one winters worth for me in the OWB. This year I had maybe a half cord left.
