It looks like your table goes over fuel tank and engine also. I made mine so center section flips up to access fueling.

I have the DHT 35 ton with it came both work table and log catcher, I had to drill a couple holes to mount the log catcher on the right side.
I hate picking up pieces off the ground.

I just flip up the splitter to fuel. I wanted it to cover the engine for protection from falling logs

Then I saw a picture of one on a different forum where the owner extended it to protect the engine & have extra space to put pieces when working bigger chunks. I thought that was a pretty good idea, but how does he fill the gas tank? So I made mine with a flip up center. I can’t believe I never thought about just tipping it up!:picard: :headbang: But then again I’m kinda short of having enough lead in my a$$, so it’s a bit of a struggle for me to tip up & down.

I like that log holder/catcher. I wish I had the skills to make something like that. Right know I push me wheel barrow to act as a catcher.

JeffC Until you can fab something else up you could try what I have been using. I put a Work Mate bench next to the splitter to catch wood while I am splitting.

I like that idea. I thought of building a little table like that to put next to it.

I already had the Work Mate so no building was required. I like the little bench cause it folds up for easy transport to where ever I will be splitting.

Weld a little piece of 1/2" black pipe on the side of the log base plate. Stick a ATV/bike flag or driveway marker in the pipe when backing. Things still happen quick with a short wheelbase, but at least you'll have a fighting chance of seeing what's going on back there.

    Even better!

My splitter is 26 yrs old. There wasn't a Harbor Freight around back then. Backing up with my '85 F250 International diesel was nearly impossible. Luckily, I never caved the bumper or kinked the steel line on the splitter.
