Now, what length bar? I'm leaning towards a 24" dressed in semi chisle.

Don't be scared to put a 28 or 32 inch bar on with skip tooth chain. It will do just fine. I bought mine new in 2012 and have only had to replace the coil.

I have one that runs 24 and 28.
I would suggest some big gnarly aftermarket dogs for it. That saw deserves it.

I run a 24" bar. I'm cutting hardwoods exclusively. Skip tooth for noodling, semi chisel for cross-cut.

    Congrats!!!!

As you're probably aware...you'll love that saw.

I picked mine up a year and a half ago for $150.00. I'm mostly a stihl fan but the 372xp is a sweet, sweet saw. Saw started when I was there but the plug was only finger tight when I got home. That and a few non-OEM fasteners are the only things that were wrong.

It runs a 20" most the time but occasionally, a 28" Tsumura.

I've got a 372xpw and tried the 32" bar on it. It was fine, but a bit out of balance for me. I am running a 28" and really like it. I also run a skip tooth chain. What a great saw!

I usually get a chance to stop by 4 times a year. They’ve had a 455 rancher in there for over a year priced at $300, but it was gone (wasn’t interested in it anyway). This time he had 4 huskies. A 350, two ranchers, ( a 450 & 455 I think) and this 372! 2 sthils also. Pulled the top cover, air cleaner, and spark plug, all looked pretty good. Compression felt good. I was getting more excited every minute. Took it outside & it popped on the 8th rip & was running on the 10th! .... time to dicker on price!!! Was marked $275 .... offered $200, said he would take $230 cash out the door. I didn’t have enough cash to do that and had to use my plastic. $ 246.10 all in. I’m thinking that was pretty sweet deal!! Was it??? Can’t wait to run it some evening this week or weekend.:saw: I’m super excited about it!!

It will come along. Here was the CL ad from my 372. Didn't even try to haggle. It helps to set up an RSS alert.
