It's built a little light though. Yours looks to be pretty a tough one.

i was going to say something like that but you guys beat me to it. Great looking "toy" for making firewood, but my set up wouldnt allow for it. Whats the maximum diameter round it will cut?

It just goes by what size the saw is but we've cut some big logs on the buzz saw. So big I remember once it took 3 of us just to get it onto the table.

But if you've never worked with one you would be amazed at how fast you can buck up wood with one of these, especially if you have 3 people working. One getting logs; one on the table and one throwing the wood. Many moons ago farmers used to get together in the fall, right after the corn was picked and they would buzz wood. They'd go from farm to farm. Then in winter the guys would cut wood for the next fall and just stack it up. Hence the old saying of a buzz pile.

Yeah they speed things up. We only use ours for smaller stuff that’s just too much of a pain with the chainsaw. Back in the day it was four of us. Two women and two men. Women fetch and the guys cut. We would start at 8am and do three heaping dumptrucks of sticks by noon. That includes tossing it down the cellars.

Haven’t used it much lately. Dry sticks are fine but I found the green sticks just don’t dry in length very well. Personally in the woods I’d leave the little stuff. My sister likes cutting up little stuff so that’s her job. Just too much handling for my tastes cutting twigs with a chainsaw.
